What is included in the Ikan EVF50 kit?

The kit includes: DH5e monitor, AC adapter, Canon E6 battery plate, monitor cage with viewfinder, screen cleaning wipe, screen protection film, sunhood, Bluestar eye cushion, removable hex tool, hex screws, and monitor retaining brackets.

How do I install the monitor onto the viewfinder?

Use the included hex tool to remove the monitor retaining brackets. Slide the DH5e monitor in from the rear, then re-install the retaining brackets to secure it. You can also use the hex tool to tighten the cable lock screw.

How do I use the touch screen functions?

Tap the screen to bring up the status display to check settings. Use pinch-to-zoom (two-finger gesture) to zoom into the image, similar to a smartphone.

What is Peaking and how do I enable it?

Peaking highlights in-focus areas with a red outline. You can assign Peaking to one of the four function buttons via the menu. It helps achieve precise focus, especially when the subject is properly exposed.

How can I change the aspect ratio?

Go to the menu, select 'Aspect', and choose from options like 80%, 90%, 15:9, 4:3, 1.5:1, 1.85:1, 2:1, 2.35:1, or Custom. You can also toggle guide masks and grids for framing.

How do I update the firmware?

Connect a USB drive containing the update file to the USB connector on the monitor. Then use the Information Update (USB) option in the menu to install the firmware update.

What is EVF Mode?

EVF Mode is designed for use with the optional electronic viewfinder accessory (sold separately). It optimizes the display for viewfinder use. You can assign it to a function button.

What video signals does the EVF50 support?

It supports a wide range of HDMI signals including 720x480i/p, 720x576i, 1280x720p (up to 60Hz), 1920x1080i/p/psf (up to 60Hz), 3840x2160p (24, 25, 30Hz), and 4096x2160p (24Hz). Auto-detects PAL, NTSC, and SECAM.

Can I use third-party batteries with the EVF50?

Yes, the monitor uses interchangeable battery plates. Optional plates include Canon LP-E6, Panasonic D54, Sony L-Series, Nikon EN-EL15, and more. The included plate works with Canon LP-E6 batteries.

What is the warranty coverage?

Ikan provides free service for one year from the date of purchase for manufacturing errors. The warranty does not cover damage from abuse, misuse, unauthorized dismantling, or natural disasters. After warranty expires, components and service fees apply.

Touch Functions

1 Tap the screen to bring up the status display. From here you can check various settings. You can also see current menu settings. In addition, you can enable and disable features mapped to the function buttons.

2 Pinch-to-Zoom allows you to zoom into your image by using your fingertips, similar to your smartphone!

Backlight — Allows user to fine tune the intensity of the LCD Panel's backlight.

Aspect — Allows user to change the aspect ratio of the image.

System Config—OSD—Language: Choose between English & Chinese for OSD.

OSD - Duration: Choose how long the menu stays active without activity.

OSD - Transparency: Choose from low, medium, high, or off.

MENU Setup - Allows 5 users to save menu settings.

System Reset - Reset Settings to factory defaults.
