How do I descale my Swan kettle?

Use a descaling product from a supermarket (tablets, powder, or liquid). Follow the product instructions, boil the solution, then rinse thoroughly. Regular descaling prevents limescale buildup and maintains performance.

Can I boil less than the minimum water level?

No, always keep water between the MIN and MAX lines. Boiling below the minimum can damage the heating element and cause the kettle to overheat.

Why is my kettle not turning on?

Check that the kettle is properly seated on the base, the plug is inserted fully, and the power switch is pressed down. If it still doesn't work, ensure the auto shut-off hasn't tripped due to overheating or dry boiling.

How do I clean the exterior of the kettle?

Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent solution. Do not immerse the kettle in water or use abrasive cleaners.

• This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use. Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.

HOW TO USE

Before first use

Remove all packaging.

It is important to ensure the correct plug adaptor is used when operating in a country not using the UK 13 Amp socket system. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

Fill the kettle with water via the spout or you can also fill the kettle by removing the lid. Ensure the lid is firmly closed after filling.

Check that the water level is between the MIN and MAX lines on the water gauge.

PLEASE DO NOT OVERFILL THE KETTLE PAST THE MAX LEVEL. DOING SO POSES A SCALDING RISK.

Place the kettle on its base, Connect the plug to the mains supply and press the power switch down

The kettle will switch itself off once the water has boiled

If this is the first time you have used the kettle, discard the water from the first boiling.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

This product requires very little maintenance.

However, if you live in a hard water area, it will be necessary to de-scale the kettle from time to time. Most supermarkets sell de-scaling tablets, powders or liquids.

These are inexpensive, easy to use and perfect for ensuring your kettle provides many years of faithful service.

An excessive build up of lime scale will damage your kettle and increase the boiling time/electricity consumption!

For cleaning external surfaces, a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution is all that is required.

DO NOT USE ABRASIVE OR STRONG CHEMICAL CLEANERS DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE PRODUCT IN WATER

ALWAYS ENSURE THE PRODUCT IS UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY AND COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE CLEANING.
