How do I descale my Swan SK34020CN kettle?

To descale, fill the kettle with equal parts water and white vinegar or use a commercial descaling solution. Boil, let sit for 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.

Why does my kettle shut off before boiling?

This may be due to excess limescale on the heating element. Descale the kettle. Also ensure the lid is closed properly and the water level is not below the minimum mark.

What is the maximum capacity of the kettle?

The maximum capacity is 1.7 liters. Do not fill beyond the MAX mark to avoid spillage during boiling.

Can I boil water directly from the base?

No, the kettle must be placed on the base for power connection. The base is cordless and rotates 360° for convenient placement.

Is the kettle BPA-free?

Yes, the Swan SK34020CN is made with BPA-free materials. All parts that come into contact with water are safe.

How do I clean the filter?

The removable filter can be taken out and rinsed under running water. Use a soft brush if needed. Replace it before use.

HOW TO USE

Before first use

Remove all packaging

It is important to ensure the correct plug adaptor is used when operating in a country not using the UK 13 Amp socket system. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

Fill the kettle with water via the spout. You can also fill the kettle by opening the lid. Ensure the lid is firmly closed after filling.

Check that the water level is between the MIN and MAX lines on the water gauge.

PLEASE DO NOT OVERFILL THE KETTLE PAST THE MAX LEVEL. DOING SO POSES A SCALDING RISK.

Place the kettle on its base, Connect the plug to the mains supply and press the power switch down

The kettle will switch itself off once the water has boiled

If this is the first time you have used the kettle, discard the water from the first boiling.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

This product requires very little maintenance. However, if you live in a hard water area, it will be necessary to de-scale the kettle from time to time.

Most supermarkets sell de-scaling tablets, powders or liquids.

These are inexpensive, easy to use and perfect for ensuring your kettle provides many years of faithful service.

An excessive build up of limescale will damage your kettle and increase the boiling time/electricity consumption. It can also compromise the seals inside the kettle and cause it to leak. This is not covered by the warranty.

For cleaning external surfaces, a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution is all that is required.

DO NOT USE ABRASIVE OR STRONG CHEMICAL CLEANERS DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE PRODUCT IN WATER

ALWAYS ENSURE THE PRODUCT IS UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY AND COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE CLEANING.
