Click a macro key brick (G1-G5), then either assign a basic function (e.g., open browser) or record a custom macro. To record, click 'Start recording', perform the key/mouse actions, then click 'Start recording' again to stop and save.
How do I enable or disable GPU SLI?
Open the Command & Control software. Find the GPU SLI Switch option. Toggle it to enable or disable SLI. Disabling the slave GPU can extend battery life. Note that NVIDIA Surround technology (triple display) requires AC adapter connection.
How do I set up RAID 0 or RAID 1?
First, ensure you have two storage drives of the same specification (RAID 1 requires same capacity, RAID 0 accepts different capacity). Enter BIOS by pressing F2 during startup, go to Advanced > SATA Configuration, change 'SATA Mode selection' from 'AHCI' to 'RAID', press F10 to save and exit. After restart, run Intel Rapid Storage Technology from All Apps, click Create, select 'Optimize disc performance (RAID 0/1)', follow prompts to configure and create the volume.
How do I create a recovery USB drive?
Plug in a USB drive with at least 20GB capacity (backup data first as all data will be erased). Insert the driver disk or download 'System Backup' from the AORUS website. Install and run the application. Select your USB disk from the drop-down list and click to create the recovery USB. When done, to restore, press F12 during startup and select 'boot from recovery USB disk'.
How do I restore my laptop to factory settings?
On Windows 7: restart and press and hold F9 during boot, then click 'Recovery'. On Windows 8.1: press F9, choose ‘Troubleshoot’, then either ‘Refresh your PC’ (keeps files) or ‘Reset your PC’ (removes everything). Follow on-screen instructions. Ensure the AC adapter is plugged in and do not turn off during the process.
How can I protect the battery lifespan?
The battery has a protection mechanism: it will not charge if its temperature is above 45°C to prevent damage. When connected to AC power and the battery cools below 45°C, charging resumes. Avoid using the battery in high performance mode while unplugged for extended periods to reduce heat buildup.
How do I adjust the fan speed?
Open Command & Control software and use the Fan Controller feature. Options include: Auto (system adjusts based on workload), Stealth (quiet mode, may limit performance), and Turbo (full speed for maximum cooling). Select the desired mode based on your needs.
Can I upgrade the memory or storage myself?
Yes, the X7 supports up to four SO-DIMM memory slots and up to three mSATA SSDs plus one 2.5-inch hard drive. However, upgrading may void the warranty if damage occurs. It is recommended to take the laptop to an authorized service center for upgrades. For memory compatibility, visit the AORUS official website FAQ.

In order to protect the battery's lifespan, the battery will not be chargeable when its temperature is higher than 45 °C . The mechanism for this is to protect the battery life. However, after user connects to power adapter, battery stops discharging and temperatures below is 45 °C , the battery will start charging back to the source and to maintain normal operation.
