Frequently Asked Questions - 000-728 Menuett

How do I clean the toaster?
Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaners. Pull out the crumb trays at the bottom, empty them, and reinsert them before next use. Never immerse the toaster in water.
Can I toast frozen bread directly?
Yes, press the defrost button (✿) before toasting. The toaster will adjust the toasting cycle to thaw and toast the bread to the selected browning level.
Why does the toast become darker on consecutive uses?
If the toaster is used continuously, the internal temperature rises. This can cause subsequent slices to toast more quickly at the same browning setting. You may need to lower the browning level for later batches.
What should I do if bread gets stuck in the toaster?
Immediately unplug the toaster. Allow it to cool, then carefully remove the bread using a wooden or plastic utensil. Do not use metal objects or try to dislodge it while plugged in. Avoid damaging the heating elements.
Can I toast items other than sliced bread?
The toaster is designed for regular, smooth slices of bread. Do not toast odd-shaped bread, buns, or items with melting fillings (e.g., cheese) as they may cause a fire or damage the toaster.
How do I adjust the browning level?
Rotate the browning control knob to the desired setting. Level 1 produces light toast, level 7 produces dark toast. A middle setting (around 4) gives golden brown results. Adjust based on preference and number of slices.
Can I toast just one slice?
Yes. However, note that a single slice will toast faster than two slices at the same setting. You may need to use a lower browning level to prevent burning.
Why does the toaster smoke when I use it for the first time?
This is normal. The first time you use the toaster, manufacturing residues may produce some smoke. Run the toaster without bread for one cycle to burn off these residues before toasting food.
Is the toaster dishwasher safe?
No. Do not immerse the toaster or any part of it in water. Only the crumb trays are removable, and they should be cleaned by hand with a damp cloth and dried thoroughly before reinserting.
Where can I find the model number?
The model number (000-728) is typically located on a rating label on the bottom or back of the toaster. You can also find it in the user manual and on the product packaging.

USE

Using for the first time

The first time the toaster is used it may emit some fumes. This is completely normal and soon stops. For this reason, use the toaster without bread for the first time. After this the toaster can be used as normal.

Use

  1. Plug the toaster into a power point.
  2. Put the bread in the toasting slots. Up to four slices of bread can be toasted at once. The toaster has two separate units, which can be used together or separately. NOTE: Check that the crumb trays are properly inserted before use.
  3. Turn the knob to the required toasting setting. Low setting (position 1) gives light toasting, high setting (position 7) gives darker toasting. The middle setting gives a golden brown toasting.
NOTE: One slice is toasted more that two slices with the same setting. If the toaster is used continuously the following slices are toasted more than the first with the same setting.

  4. Pull the toasting slot handle down until the status lamp on the O button goes on. When the bread has toasted to the set toasting setting the handle comes up automatically. You can pull up the handle a little to more easily take out the bread. NOTE: The toasting only starts when the handle is pulled all the way down.

  5. Keep an eye on the toasting. Press the O button to stop the toasting.

  6. Press the ✿ button if the bread is frozen. The corresponding status lamp comes on and the bread is toasted to the set toasting setting.

  7. Press the button to warm up cold toast. The corresponding status lamp comes on. The bread is warmed for a set time, after which the handle comes up and the warming stops.

MAINTENANCE

NOTE: Pull out the plug and allow the toaster to cool before cleaning.

- Wipe the outside of the toaster with a soft, dry cloth. Never use steel wool or the equivalent.

- Pull out and empty the crumb trays. If the toaster is used a lot the crumb trays should be emptied at least once a week. Check that the crumb trays are properly inserted before use.
