Frequently Asked Questions - BR903IDX-F Bellini

What is the minimum distance between the range hood and the cooktop?
For electric hobs, the minimum distance is 600 mm. For gas hobs, it is 650 mm. The maximum allowed distance is 800 mm. Always follow the specifications of your hob if they require a greater distance.
How do I clean the grease filters?
Remove the aluminum mesh filters every 4 weeks at most. They can be washed by hand in warm water with neutral detergent or in a dishwasher. After cleaning, ensure they are completely dry before reinstalling. Dishwasher use may cause slight discoloration of the aluminum mesh but does not affect performance.
How often should charcoal filters be replaced?
Charcoal filters are optional and used only in recirculation mode. They should be replaced every 3 to 6 months, or sooner if you notice cooking odors returning into the kitchen. The correct part is CF160 (Fineline 5103075), available at Bunnings.
Can I use the range hood over a gas stove?
Yes, but you must always cover lit gas burners with pots or pans when the range hood is operating. Never leave exposed flames. Also ensure the room is adequately ventilated when using the hood simultaneously with gas appliances.
How do I replace the halogen lamps?
The hood uses 2 x 20W, 12V halogen globes. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to carefully remove the inner stainless steel ring. Remove the old globe (when cool) and replace it with a new one, handling it with a cloth to avoid grease from skin. Reinstall the ring.
What should I do if the ducting is too long or has bends?
For optimal extraction, keep the exhaust duct as short and straight as possible. Avoid reducing the size or using excessive bends. If using flexible duct, install it taut to minimize pressure loss. Failure to do so reduces performance and increases noise.
Does the range hood have a timer function?
Yes, it has a programmable timer. Press the Timer button for 2-5 seconds to set the clock. To set an auto-off duration, press Timer while the motor is running; default is 5 minutes, adjustable from 1 to 60 minutes. The hood will turn off automatically after the set time.
Can the range hood be installed for outdoor use?
No. This range hood is intended for indoor household use only. It must not be installed outdoors or over a solid fuel stove. The exhaust air must be vented to the outside atmosphere, not into a roof cavity or wall cavity unless specifically designed.
Is the range hood compatible with a recirculation mode?
Yes, but you must install charcoal filters (optional accessory). In recirculation mode, air is cleaned by grease filters then charcoal filters and recirculated back into the kitchen through vents in the upper chimney. The charcoal filters are not included and must be purchased separately.
What does the warranty cover and how long does it last?
Bellini offers a 3-year in-home warranty for domestic use from the date of purchase. It covers manufacturing defects and faulty materials. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, commercial use, or damage from electrical issues. For claims, call 1300 373 199 (Australia) or 0800 764 912 (New Zealand).

When installing the range hood, make sure you adhere to the minimum and maximum distances from the range hood base to the cooktop hob surface.

Hints for exhaust duct installation

The following rules must be strictly followed to obtain optimal air extraction

- Keep exhaust duct short and straight

- Do not reduce the size or restrict exhaust duct

- When using flexible duct always install the duct pulled taut to minimize pressure loss

- Failure to observe these basic instructions will reduce the performance and increase noise levels of the range hood

Ensure the exhaust ducting selected for installation complies with relevant standards and is fire retardant.

  1. Using a spirit level, mark a vertical line on the wall (Central to the cook top installed below) to indicate the centre location of the hood and a horizontal line where the hood base will be positioned.

NOTE: The distance from the horizontal line to an electrical cooktop underneath must be minimum of 600mm & 650mm Free space to the gas cook top and a maximum height of 800mm (refer to table below).
