INSTALLATION

CARBON FILTERS:

Carbon filters are not included, but they are available in the market if you want to buy them. If you have an air outlet you do not need the carbon filters for normal operation. Carbon filters are used for kitchen air recirculation. They clean the kitchen air so it can be pumped back into the kitchen. The air is not pumped out but filtered and returned back to the kitchen.

Carbon filters are not washable and should be replaced around every four months, depending on its usage. Always follow the producer instructions.

KF-A / KF-C filters:

In this case 2 filters must be used, one each side of the plastic cover of the engine, where you can find 2 tabs. Fix the filters with the tabs and turn them 90^ until you hear a click. To unmount the filters you can make the inverse operation.

KF-B filters:

Only one unit of carbon filter shall be used in this case. It should be placed at the front of the metal container of the motor. Fix the filter tabs in the container holes towards the wall, and the clips on top of the carbon filter should be fixed in the metal container and locked.

It is advised to always start the hood before cooking no matter what you are cooking.

Select the power level (1, 2, 3) according to the amount of generated steam while cooking.

When you finish cooking wait for around 15 minutes before turning the hood off. By doing so a better venting of smoke and steam is guaranteed.

MAINTENANCE:

Keep the hood always in perfect cleaning and maintenance conditions for a better performance and to ensure a long working life. Pay special attention to filters. Aluminium filters are conceived to retain fat particles in suspension, in a way that the fat may accumulate on the filters and, not only decrease, but even block the suction capacity of the hood. The fat may accumulate faster or slower depending on the usage of the hood, but, in any case, you should clean them, at least, once every 2 months. In order to do so please follow these instructions:

Use the filter tabs to unmount them.

Put them in water with a neutral detergent for the fat to be softened.

Wash them accurately unblocking any obstruction.

Rinse it well with clean water and let it air dry.

Make sure the filters are completely dry and mount them back in place.

After washing them a few times you may notice the filters loose a bit of colour. This is normal and does not require any action.

CAUTION: Unplug the hood prior any maintenance or cleaning operation.

Carbon filters are not washable. You have to replace them with new filters when their life cycle is ended.

All other hood surfaces but the painted ones, and the vent may be frequently cleaned with an alcohol damped cloth, and/or with neutral, liquid, non abrasive detergent. Do not use rough sponges.
