Frequently Asked Questions - GT-432 Jablotron

How do I install the GT-432 microwave sensor?
First, isolate the vehicle's battery. Mount the module behind the center console with the transmitting side facing the rear seat or roof. Connect the BROWN wire to ground, PINK to the alarm's PINK wire (positive when armed), and GREEN/BLACK to the alarm's GREEN/BLACK wire. Test sensitivity after installation.
What is the detection range of the GT-432?
The detection range is 20/30 cm minimum and 1.4/1.5 meters maximum. Range can vary based on mounting and environment.
How do I adjust the sensitivity of the sensor?
Turn the sensitivity adjuster clockwise to increase sensitivity and counterclockwise to decrease. After adjustment, test by moving your arm inside the vehicle. Avoid over-sensitivity to prevent false alarms.
Why is my GT-432 triggering false alarms?
False alarms can be caused by metal objects in glove compartments, over-sensitivity, or mounting too close to metal. Remove metal items, reduce sensitivity, and ensure the module is not mounted on the dashboard, roof pointing down, or near metal.
Can I leave the roof open with the GT-432 armed?
Yes, the sensor is designed to only trigger when an object enters the vehicle, not from outside movement. You can leave the roof open without causing false alarms.
What is the operating voltage for the GT-432?
The sensor operates on 9VDC to 15VDC and draws less than 5.5 mA at 12VDC when armed.
Is the GT-432 compatible with all Joblotron alarms?
It is specifically designed for GT alarm systems from Joblotron. Refer to the wiring instructions to connect to the PINK and GREEN/BLACK wires of your GT alarm.
Where should I mount the GT-432 module?
Mount the module in the passenger's compartment behind the center console (radio space). The transmitting side should face the rear seat or be slightly turned toward the roof. For soft-top vehicles, secure under the center console with the transmitting side facing the roof.
How does the GT-432 detect motion?
It uses microwave technology at 2.45 GHz to detect movement inside the vehicle. When an object enters the detection zone, the microwave trigger LED illuminates and the alarm activates.
Does the GT-432 work in extreme temperatures?
Yes, the sensor is rated for -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for most climates.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS CONNECTIONS

  1. Isolate the vehicle's battery prior to starting the installation.
  2. Mount the module as stated in the paragraph "MODULE POSITION".
  3. Connect the BROWN wire to a good earth.
  4. Connect the PINK wire (positive when armed alarm) to the PINK wire of GT alarm.
  5. Connect the GREEN/BLACK wire to the GREEN/BLACK wire of the GT alarm as indicated in FIG.A.

MODULE POSITION

Position the module in the passenger's compartment, behind the centre console (radio space). Face the module's transmitting side towards the rear seat or slightly turn it towards the roof (see FIG. B). For soft top vehicles only, it is advisable to secure the module under the centre console (near the hand brake lever) with it's transmitting side facing the roof.

NOTE: the position suggested above are indicative, therefore always find the optimum position of the module by testing during installation.

The module must not be mounted:

a. on the dashboard;
b. on the roof pointing towards the floor;
c. near the glove compartments containing metal objects (coins, keys, etc);
d. near metal

TESTING

Remove any items that may create false alarm through movement inside the vehicle. Close the doors but leave just enough room through each window to introduce an arm. "Set" the alarm and wait for a few minutes. Introduce your arm through the gap and move it around. The microwave trigger LED will illuminate and the alarm will activate. To increase the microwave senor sensitivity turn the adjuster clockwise. Beware that it is possible to increase sensitivity to a point at which it will become too sensitive and may cause false alarms. To check that it is not over sensitive, move your arms across the outside of the windows and the soft top roof (where applicable). This should not trigger the alarm.

NOTE: only the introduction of an object should trigger the alarm, therefore it is possible to leave the roof open without causing false alarm.
