Frequently Asked Questions - DCX 770 UNIDEN

How do I register a handset to the base?
Place the handset on the base cradle for at least 5 seconds. The handset should automatically register and display 'Registered'. If not, press the Find button on the base for 2 seconds.
What should I do if the battery indicator is flashing?
The battery is low. Place the handset on the base to recharge. A full charge takes about 12 hours. Use only the supplied NiMH battery pack.
How can I increase the range of my cordless phone?
Keep the base away from large metal objects and electronic devices. The typical range is up to 300m outdoors and 50m indoors. Moving closer to the base improves reception.
Why does my phone emit static or interference?
Interference can come from other wireless devices like routers, microwaves, or baby monitors. Try moving the base to a different location. Also, ensure the handset battery is fully charged.
How do I set the date and time?
Press Menu on the handset, select 'Date/Time', then use the keypad to enter the current date and time. Confirm with Save. The handset may auto-update from the network if caller ID is enabled.
Can I use the phone during a power outage?
No, the base requires AC power. The handset will not work during a power outage. For backup, consider a phone that uses standard AA batteries.
How many handsets can I add to this system?
You can register up to 5 handsets to the base. Additional handsets are sold separately. Each handset must be registered following the pairing procedure.
How do I mute the handset during a call?
Press the Mute button (usually marked with a microphone with a cross). You will hear a beep or see 'Mute' on the display. Press again to unmute.
What does the 'ECO' mode do?
ECO mode reduces power consumption and extends range. When enabled, the phone lowers transmission power when the handset is near the base. You can toggle it in the settings menu.
Can I block unwanted calls?
This model may not have built-in call blocking. You can use Anonymous Call Rejection if available via your phone service. Check your provider for features.
