Assembly Instructions

1.: Select a level support which provides a perfectly horizontal plane so possible settlements caused by the weight of the barbecue could be avoided.
2.: Prepare a low - resistant mortar mix with 20 % cement and 80 % sand. The use of cement and glues with high - heat resistant or quick setting (e. g. white cement, aluminium cement, glue for paving - tile etc.) is forbidden. Those materials do not permit expansion of the barbecue components and cause crackings. Assemble the single parts in accordance to the list above using a film of mortar in between. The parts 3 to 8 should be mounted with a very thin layer of mortar in order to ease the thermal expansion of the single elements which otherwise could break. The refractory elements belonging to the high - heat zone (parts 3 to 8) must be installed without any binder.
3.: Once the assembly is completed, cover the external surface with a liquid film of low - resistant cement mixed with fine sand. In this way the wear will be reduced and an optimum surface will be obtained. Then paint the barbecue with a product containing plastic quartz to protect it from the weather. Spread the paint in two phases. For the first coat use a paint with 5 % diluted water which is to be spread with a brush. For the second coat you should use 10 % diluted water which can be laid and finished with a roller to achieve a peel effect. Before spreading the paint it is advisable to cover and protect the already coloured parts.
4.: Once these first phases are finished, wait at least 24 hours before inserting the accessories and using the barbecue.

WARNINGS:

This barbecue is an outdoor item and may not be assembled indoors.

It is prepared for the use of charcoal only! Do not use other materials like wood or rubbish.

Never light the charcoal or burn any materials containing toxic chemical products or synthetic materials (rubber, plastic etc.)

Always light the fire slowly and gradually so that possible water particles and humidity absorbed during the night can be removed. Never use petrol or methylated spirits to light or relight the barbecue. Use proprietary lighting aids. Keep children away from the barbecue when in use. We suggest to use protective gloves and long handled barbecue tongs. Let the barbecue cool down completely before cleaning.

The material of the fireplace shows characteristics of expansion when in use with the appearance of micro cracks due to the absorption of temperature changes. The cracks tend to close during the cooling process of the different elements not leading, however, to any defects in the product. Always repaint the barbecue at the end of the season. Thus the penetration of water particles which could cause micro cracks on the elements will be avoided. The barbecue should be kept clean.

Lighting Instructions

1 Place a layer of Landmann charcoal (lump wood or briquettes) on the grate. Build it up into a pyramid shaped pile.
2 Light, using Landmann fire lighters, following the instructions on the pack.
3 The barbecue will be ready for use in about 30 to 40 minutes, when all flames and smoke have died down and the charcoal is covered by an even layer of grey ash. At this point, spread the charcoal evenly across the grate. Add more charcoal if required.
4 Grease the cooking grill to prevent sticking.

Safety Instructions

1 Do not use petrol, alcohol or other highly flammable liquids to light the fire.

2 Keep children away from the fire. An adult should always be in charge of the barbecue.

NEVER barbecue indoors or in confined space.

NEVER place on a surface which is liable to be damaged.

NEVER handle or move the barbecue when it is in use or when it is still hot.

Remember that the barbecue will retain its heat even after it appears to be out. After you have finished cooking, extinguish the barbecue with sand or soil. Dispose of ashes carefully.
