Frequently Asked Questions - NC-DF1WXC PANASONIC

Can I use milk or hot water in the water tank?
No, only use cold water. Filling with milk, hot water, or other liquids may cause malfunction.
How do I clean the coffee maker?
Unplug and let it cool. Wash removable parts with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or dishwasher. For descaling, use citric acid (approx. 20 g in full water tank) and run a brew cycle without coffee, then rinse with clean water.
Why is my coffee brewing slowly?
Slow brewing may be due to scale buildup. Clean the water tank with citric acid solution as described in the manual. Also ensure you are not using too fine coffee grounds (use paper filter for fine grind).
Can I use paper filters with this coffee maker?
Yes, you can use standard 1x4 paper filters in place of the mesh filter. This is recommended when using finely ground coffee to prevent clogging.
How many cups can I brew at once?
The maximum capacity is 8 cups (approx. 1.1 L). One cup is approximately 120 mL, so 8 cups equals about 960 mL of brewed coffee.
Can I remove the jug during brewing?
No, do not remove the jug while brewing as it may cause burns and coffee will drip. Wait until brewing is complete and remove slowly.
How do I keep the coffee warm?
For the NC-DF1 model, leave the power switch in the ON position after brewing. The warm plate will keep the jug warm. For best taste, do not keep warm for extended periods.
What should I do if coffee grounds appear in my cup?
If using the mesh filter with finely ground coffee, switch to a paper filter. Also check that the mesh filter is not torn. If torn, replace with a new mesh filter (part no. ACA43-153-K0).
Is the coffee maker dishwas ter safe?
No, do not put any part of the coffee maker in a dishwasher. Clean parts by hand with mild detergent and a soft sponge.
What is the correct amount of coffee to use?
Refer to the table in the manual: for 2 cups use 4-5 scoops (fine/medium grind), for 4 cups 8-7.5 scoops, for 6 cups 11-10 scoops, for 8 cups 14-12 scoops. One scoop is the measuring spoon provided.
