Frequently Asked Questions - QMP1MB Chief

What is the maximum weight capacity of the Chief QMP1MB TV stand?
The maximum weight capacity is 150 lbs (68.04 kg). Do not exceed this limit to avoid injury or damage.
How do I adjust the height of the stand?
Firmly grasp the top of the inner column. Pull out the knob on the center post and turn it 90° to disengage the locking mechanism. Raise or lower the upright, then turn the knob 90° to lock it in place. Ensure the knob engages in a hole of the inner column.
How do I assemble the legs to the cross bracket?
Attach two legs (A) and (B) to the stand cross bracket (F) using two 5/16-18 x 4-1/4" button head cap screws (L) through one end cap (D) per leg. Refer to Figure 1 in the manual.
How do I attach the upright to the leg assembly?
Attach upright (E) to leg assembly using four 5/16-18 x 2-3/4" button head cap screws (K) and four 5/16" washers (M). Insert and tighten screws in the order shown (1, 2, 3, 4) as per Figure 3.
How do I manage cables on this stand?
Signal cables can be run down the front flap of the upright and out any opening. Power cords can go through the front and exit out the back. Use snap-on covers (C) to close unused openings. To remove covers, grip sides and pull off or insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the bottom slot.
How do I lock the wheels?
Set the brakes on the back wheels by pressing down on the tab. This prevents movement when the stand is stationary.
Can I use a power drill to install the screws?
Yes, but only after hand-tightening the button head cap screws first with a hex key or handheld screwdriver. Using a power drill without hand starting may damage the attachment holes.
What tools are required for assembly?
Required tools include a Phillips screwdriver, open-ended wrench, hex-key, and security wrench. A hex head drill bit (G) and power drill are optional.
Is the stand stable on uneven surfaces?
Always place the stand on a level surface. After use on uneven ground, check and tighten the hex nuts on the casters occasionally to maintain stability.
How do I prevent the stand from tipping over?
Move the stand slowly, applying force on the narrow dimension. Always push near the middle, never at the top. Lock the wheels when stationary to prevent tipping.
