3.1 InstallingtheSIMCardandtheBattery
ASIMcardcarriesusefulinformation,includingyourmobilephone number,PIN(PersonalIdentificationNumber),PIN2,PUK(PIN UnlockingKey),PUK2(PIN2UnlockingKey),IMSI(International MobileSubscriberIdentity),networkinformation,contactsdata,and shortmessagesdata.
Note:
Afterpoweringoffyourmobilephone, waitforafewsecondsbefore removingorinsertingASIMcard.
ExercisecautionwhenoperatingASIMcard,asfrictionorbending willdamagetheSIMcard.
ProperlykeepthemobilephoneanditsfittingssuchastheSIM cardsbeyondchildren'sreach.
Installation
◆ Holdthepowerkeyforawhileandselectpowerofftopoweroff themobilephone
◆ Takethebackcoveraway.
◆ InserttheSIMCardintotheSIMCardslotlightlywiththecorner cuttingofthecardaligningtothenotchoftheslotandthegoldplate ofthecardfacingdownload,tilltheSIMCardcannotbefurther pushedin.
◆ Withthemetalliccontactsofthebatteryfacingthemetalliccontactsinthebatteryslot,installthebattery.

TheSDcardisaminiatureobject.Keepitoutofthereachof childrenforfearthatchildrenswallowit!
3.2 ChargingtheBattery
- Yourmobilephonecanmonitoranddisplaythebatterystate.
◆ Normallytheremainingenergyofthebatteryisindicatedbythe batteryleveliconattheupperrightcornerofthedisplayscreen.
◆ Whenthebatteryenergyisinsufficient,themobilephoneprompts "Batterylow".
Usingatraveladapter:
◆ Installthebatteryintothemobilephonebeforechargingthe battery.
◆ Connecttheadapterofthetravelchargerwiththechargingslotin themobilephone.Ensurethattheadapterisfullyinserted.
◆ Inserttheplugofthetravelchargertoanappropriatepoweroutlet.
◆ Duringthecharging, the battery level grids in the battery icon keep flickering till the battery is fully charged.
◆ Thebatteryicondoesnolongerflickerwhenthechargingprocess ends.
Note:
Ensure that the plug of the charger, the plug of the ear phone, and the plug of the USB cable are inserted in their right direction. Inserting them in a wrong direction may cause charging failure or other problems.
Before the charging, ensure that the standard voltage and frequency of the local main supply match therated voltage and power of the travel charger.
Optimizingbatterylife
Youcanextendyourbattery'slifebetweenchargesbyturningoff featuresthatyoudon'tneed. Youcanalsomonitorhowapplications andsystemresourcesconsumebatterypower.
Toguaranteetheoptimalperformanceofyourbattery,pleasestick tothefollowingrules:
◆ Turnoffradiosthatyouaren’tusing.Ifyouaren’tusingWi-Fi, Bluetooth,orGPRS,usetheSettingapplicationoturnthemoff.
◆ Turndownscreenbrightnessandsetashorterscreentimeout.
◆ Ifyoudon'tneedthem,turnoffautomaticsyncingforGmail,
Calendar, Contacts, and other applications.
Note: On the Homescreen, press Menu icon and touch Settings > About phone > Battery use. The Battery Uses screen lists the application that have been using the battery, from greatest to least battery use.
Thetopofthescreendisplaysthetimesinceyouwere lastconnectedtoachargeror, if you'recurrentlyconnectedtoone, howlongyouwererunningonbatterypowerbeforeyouconnectedtoacharger. 3.3 LinkingtotheNetworksanddevices
Yourphonecanconnecttoavarietyofnetworksanddevices, includingmobilenetworksforvoiceanddatatransmission,Wi-Fidata networks,andBluetoothdevices,suchasheadsets.Youcanalso connectyourphonetoacomputer,totransferfilesfromyourphone's SDcardandshareyourphone'smobiledataconnectionviaUSB.
Connectingtomobilenetworks
WhenyouassembleyourphonewithaSIMcard,yourphoneis configuredtouseyourprovider'smobilenetworksforvoicecallsand fortransmittingdata.
ConnectingtoWi-Finetworks
Wi-FiisawirelessnetworkingtechnologythatcanprovideInternet accessatdistancesofupto100meters,dependingontheWi-Fi routerandyoursurroundings.
TouchSettings>Wireless&networks>Wi-Fi.CheckWi-Fitoturniton.ThephonescansforavailableWi-Finetworksanddisplaythe namesofthoseitfinds.SecurednetworksareindicatedwithaLock icon.
Note: If the phone finds an network that you connected to previously, it connects to it.
Touchanetworktoconnecttoit.Ifthenetworkisopen,youare promptedtoconfirmthatyouwanttoconnecttothatnetworkby touchingConnect.Ifthenetworkissecured,you'repromptedtoenter apasswordorothercredentials.
ConnectingtoBluetoothdevices
Bluetoothisashort-rangewirelesscommunicationstechnologythat devicescanusetoexchangeinformationoveradistanceofabout8 meters. ThemostcommonBluetoothdevicesareheadphonesfor makingcallsorlisteningtomusic,hands-freekitsforcars,andother portabledevices,includinglaptopsandcellphones.
TouchSettings>Wireless&networks>Bluetooth.Check Bluetoothhtoturniton. Youmustpairyourphonewithadevicebeforeyoucan connectto it.Onceyoupairyourphonewithadevice,theystaypaired unless youunpairthem. YourphonescansforanddisplaytheIDsofallavailable Bluetooth devicesinrange.Ifthedeviceyouwanttopairwithisn'tinthe list, makeitdiscoverable.
ConnectingtoacomputerviaUSB
YoucanconnectyourphonetoacomputerwithaUSBcable,to transfermusic,pictures,andotherfilesbetweenyourphone'sSD cardandthecomputer.
3.4 Usingthetouchscreen
◆ Touch-screentips
- Touch
Toactonitemsonthescreen,suchasapplicationandsettings icons,totypelettersandsymbolsusingtheonscreenkeyboard,orto pressonscreenbuttons,yousimplytouchthemwithyourfinger.
- Touch&hold
Touch&holdanitemonthescreenbytouchingitandnotlifting yourfingeruntilanactionoccurs.Forexample,toopenamenufor customizingtheHomescreen,youtouchanemptyareaontheHome screenuntilthemenuopens.
- Drag
Touch&holdanitemforamomentandthen,withoutliftingyour finger,moveyourfingeronthescreenuntilyoureachthetarget position.
- Swipeorslide
Toswipeorslide, you quickly move your finger across the surface of the screen, without pausing when you first touch it (so you don't drag an item instead). Forexample, you slid the screen up or downtoscrollalist.
Lockscreen
WhenScreenlockinSecuritysettingisenabled,pressPowerkeyto lockthehandset. This help stop prevent accidentaltouching of keys and as well as powers saving. When Sleep function in Display setting is enabled, after the handset device has been idle for preset period, the screen will be locked automatically to save power.
◆ Unlockscreen
PressPowerkeytoswitchonthehandsetdevice. Thelockscreen appears. Touchandslidelefttoopencameraapplication. Touchand sliderighttounlockscreen, and the screen being locked last timewill show.
3.5 Usingtheonscreenkeypad
Youentertextusingtheonscreenkeyboard.Someapplications openthekeyboardautomatically.Inothers,youtouchatextfield whereyouwanttoentertexttoopenthekeyboard.Youcanalso entertextbyspeakinginsteadofbytyping.
◆ Toentertext
Touchatextfield, and theonscreenkeyboardopens. Some applicationsopenthekeyboardautomatically. In others, youtoucha textfieldwhereyouwanttoentertexttoopenthekeyboard.
The characters you've entered appear in the text field, with suggestions forth the word you are typing below.
UsetheDeleteicontoerasecharacterstotheleftofthecursor. Afterfinishingtyping,touchBackicontoclosethekeyboard.

YoucanopenCalendartovieweventsyou'vecreated. TouchtheCalendariconinthemainmenuinterface.Events fromeachaccountyou'veaddedtoyourphoneand configuredtosynchronizecalendarsaredisplayedin Calendar.
Creatinganevent
YoucanuseCalendaronyourphonetocreateevents.In any calendarview,touchmenuiconandthentouchmore>new eventtoopenaeventdetailsscreenforanewevent. Enteraname,time,andoptionaladditionaldetailsaboutthe event.
Youcantouchplusicontoaddmorereminders.Inthe Guestsfield,youcanentertheemailaddressesofeveryone youwanttoinvitetotheevent.Separatemultipleaddresses withcommas(,).Ifthepeopletowhomyousendinvitations useGoogleCalendar,they'llreceiveaninvitationin Calendarandbyemail.Youcantouchmenuiconandtouch Showextraoptionstoadddetailsabouttheevent.
ScrolltothebottomoftheEventdetailsscreenandtouch Done. The eventisadded to your calendar.
Synchronizinganddisplayingcalendars
WhenyouaddaGoogleAccountorMicrosoftExchange ActiveSyncaccounttoyourphonethatincludesacalendar service, and you configure that accounts to synchronize calendareventsto the phone, the events from that calendar
areaddedandkeptuptodateinCalendaronthephone. Incalendarscreen,touchmenuiconandtouchCalendars todisplay>Calendars,here,youcansetwhether calendarsarestoredonthephoneorvisible.TheCalendars screendisplaysallthecalendarsyou'veaddedor subscribedtoforeachaccountthatisconfiguredto synchronizeeventstoyourphone,organizedbyaccount. Inthecontactsscreen,touchmenuiconandyoucan performthefollowingoperations:
Search: Searchcontactsthroughthisfunction.
Addcontact:Addnewcontactsthroughthisfunction.
Deletecontact:Selectthisfunction,thenyoucanmarkthe targetcontacts.Todeleteallcontacts,youjustneedto touchallatthetopofcontactsscreen.Last,touchOKand confirmtodeletecontacts.
Contactstodisplay: you can select the contactson different grouptodisplay.
Import/export: you can import/export the contacts form SIM cardor storage; you can also share the visible contacts.
Accounts: you cansyncwithyouraccount.
Settings: you can set the display options in this interface.
