How do I install the AXLOC-FD1?

Install aftermarket amplifier and connect RCA cables (not included). 5. Connect the remote wire. 6. Secure all connections before testing.

Which vehicles are compatible with the AXLOC-FD1?

It is compatible with many Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda vehicles from 2003-2019 that do not have factory amplifiers. How do I adjust the gain?

The gain controller is a knob that adjusts the overall output level. Connect the auxiliary cable between the gain controller and the AXLOC harness. Rotate the knob to set the desired output level for your amplifier.

Do I need a relay for multiple amplifiers?

Yes, A single pole double throw (SPDT) relay is recommended when installing multiple amplifiers to properly manage the remote turn-on signal.

What is the purpose of the remote wire?

The remote wire provides a 12V, 500mA signal to turn on the aftermarket amplifier when the vehicle's stereo is on. It features signal sense activation.

Can I use the AXLOC-FD1 in a vehicle with a factory amplified system?

ATTENTION: With the key out of the ignition, disconnect the negative battery terminal before installing this product. Ensure that all installation connections, especially the air bag indicator lights, are plugged in before reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition to test this product.

NOTE: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket accessory before installing this device.

INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the harness from the factory tuner and install the AXLOC-FD1 harness provided with this kit.
2. Mount the gain controller in a suitable location, and connect the auxiliary cable to the BASS KNOB, then to the Gain Connector of the AXLOC harness.

3. Install the aftermarket amplifier and run an RCA pair (sold separately) to the line converter.

4. Connect the remote wire, plug in the device and secure all connections prior to testing.

NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with active noise cancellation microphones (ANC), it is recommended that they are disabled to prevent potential noise when installing subwoofers.
