I pressed the power button but the computer does not turn on. What should I do?

First check if the power button light is on. If not, ensure the power cord is plugged in and the outlet is live. If the light is on, the system files may be damaged; use the startup disc or system recovery.

Nothing appears on the screen. What can I do?

The screen may be in power-saving mode. Press a key on the keyboard to wake it up. If nothing happens, restart the computer. If it still fails, contact technical support.

The printer does not work with the computer.

Check that the printer is on and properly connected (USB or other). Refer to the printer manual for drivers or settings.

No sound comes out of the computer.

Make sure the volume is not muted (icon in bottom right). If a headset or external speakers are plugged in, internal speakers are disabled. Also check the Windows volume mixer.

The system does not read hard drives or optical discs.

Check that the disc is inserted correctly and is not scratched or dirty. Test with another disc. If the problem persists, the drive may be defective; contact support.

Unable to write data to a disc or USB flash drive.

Ensure the media is not write-protected (tab on CD/DVD or switch on USB drives). Also check that the disc type is compatible with the burner.

How do I access the computer's user guide?

Click Start > All Programs > AcerSystem User Guide. The guide is in PDF format and contains all detailed instructions.

How do I use the memory card reader?

Insert the memory card with the label facing up into the appropriate slot. To remove, use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the taskbar, then gently press the card to eject it.

How do I upgrade the RAM?

Turn off the computer and unplug it. Open the side panel. Locate the DIMM slots (4 DDR3 slots). Install identical modules (same size and speed) respecting dual channels. Close and restart.

How do I connect audio peripherals?

Plug a microphone into the pink jack (audio input) and speakers or a headset into the green jack (audio output). Use front or rear ports as needed.
