How do I adjust the browning level?

Turn the browning control dial to your desired setting (1=light, 7=dark). For consistent results, start with a medium setting.

What do the Defrost and Reheat buttons do?

Defrost thaws frozen bread before toasting. Reheat warms already toasted bread without further browning. Press the button after lowering the bread.

How do I clean the toaster?

Unplug and let cool. Remove the crumb tray at the bottom, empty and wash with warm soapy water. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Never immerse in water.

What should I do if the toast gets stuck?

Press the Cancel button immediately. Unplug and let cool. Gently dislodge the toast using a non-metallic utensil (e.g., wooden chopstick). Never use a knife.

Why does my toaster smoke on first use?

This is normal. New heating elements may emit a slight smell or smoke during the first few uses. Run a cycle without bread to burn off residues.

Can I toast bagels or thick bread?

Yes, the extra-wide slots accommodate various bread types. For bagels, use the Bagel function if available; otherwise toast with the cut side facing the heating elements.

Is the toaster safe to leave unattended?

Attention: The surface of the appliance is hot during operation.

Before the First Use

NOTE: Smoke and odors may occur during first use.

1. Clean the appliance and the plates. See the "Care and Cleaning" section.
2. Place the mains plus into socket.
3. Preheat the toaster for about 10 minutes with the plates open.
4. Unplug the appliance from the mains.
5. Remove any stickers.

This procedure is required for the first use only.

Using the Sandwich Maker

1. Plug in the appliance.
2. The power indicator light (2) will turn on.

3. Once the device has been preheated, the temperature indicator light (3) will turn on.
   NOTE: During the warm-up always have the plates closed.

4. As soon as the temperature indicator light turn off, open the plates and place the food on the baking plate. During baking, the temperature light flashes at intervals to maintain the correct temperature.

5. Close the plates.

6. Allow the food to be baked according to your preference, type of material and thickness.

7. Once you have finished cooking, remove the food and disconnect the appliance from the socket.

CAUTION: Never touch the surfaces of the device while it is in operation. Use the handle to open the top cover. Be extra careful when removing hot food from the grill plates.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning the appliance every time you use it avoids smoke and unpleasant smell the next time you cook.

• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure that it is disconnected from the outlet and both the plates the body of your appliance cooled down completely.
• NEVER immerse the appliance and the electric cord into water or any other liquid.
• Never use metal cleaners such as wire, brush, and chemical solutions or abrasive cleaning materials in order to clean your appliance.

External device surface:

- You can wipe the outside of your appliance and the plates with a damp cloth or kitchen towels.

Non-stick plates:

• Wipe the plates gently with a soft paper towel or a soft cloth to remove any food residue.
• Do not use wire or hard sponges to clean the plates as they may be damaged the non-stick coating.
• Do not use cleaning tools or dusts that can damage or scratch the special non-stick coating.
• Ensure that parts of the cleaned device have dried well before using it again.

Carriage and Storage of the Appliance

• Make sure the appliance has cooled down before storing.
• Store the appliance in a dry place without moisture.
• Store the appliance in vertical position by locking the plate locking clip (4) or horizontal position.
  • To move the appliance, use the original packaging or wrap it in a soft cloth.
