How do I set the desired humidity level?

Press the HUMIDITY SET button repeatedly to cycle through levels from 30% to 80%. The selected humidity will be maintained automatically.

How do I clean the air filter?

Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Let it dry completely before reinserting.

Can I use continuous drainage?

Yes. Connect a garden hose (not included) to the continuous drain outlet at the back. Ensure the hose is properly secured and slopes downward to allow gravity drainage.

Why is my dehumidifier not collecting water?

Check if the tank is full (indicator light shows). Ensure room temperature is above 5°C. Clean the filter and check that the humidistat setting is lower than actual room humidity.

What does the error code E1 mean?

Error E1 indicates a sensor malfunction. Turn off the unit, unplug it for 10 minutes, then restart. If the error persists, contact Clas Ohlson customer service.

Can I use the dehumidifier in a basement?

Yes, the unit is suitable for basements. Ensure the temperature is above 5°C and there is adequate airflow around the unit. For very damp basements, consider continuous drainage.

How often does the auto defrost function activate?

The auto defrost activates automatically when the evaporator coil temperature drops below a certain level, typically every few hours in cold conditions. It takes about 10 minutes.

Is it safe to leave the dehumidifier on when I am away?

Yes, it is designed for unattended operation. It has auto shut-off when the tank is full or if the unit overheats. However, always follow the safety guidelines in the manual.

What is the noise level of the dehumidifier?

The noise level is approximately 45 dB(A), which is similar to a quiet conversation. It is suitable for use in living areas and bedrooms.

How should I transport the dehumidifier?

Empty the water tank and allow the unit to dry. Keep it upright during transport to prevent refrigerant leakage. Use the original packaging if possible.

1. Description

• Interconnectable optical smoke alarms are designed to quickly detect the presence of smoke particles in the air.
• In large buildings, several smoke alarms can be connected together wirelessly so that if any one of the alarms detects smoke it can activate the other alarms in the system.
• In order to ensure transmission of the alarm's radio signals even in poor reception conditions (lots of interference, etc) each smoke alarm has a switch on the back and can be used on one of 10 different codes. This means that the risk of your system being interfered with (or interfering with) similar system in the vicinity can be limited.

2. Positioning

When mounting on peaked or sloped ceilings, at least 1 m horizontally from the highest point
When mounting on ceiling, at least 50 cm from wall
When mounting on wall, at least 15 cm from ceiling

• Smoke alarms should be positioned on the ceiling, in the middle of a room, or on the hallway and landing. If bedrooms are scattered throughout your home, several smoke alarms should be used.
• Fit at least one smoke alarm on every level of your home. The more smoke alarms you have – the safer you'll be. Make sure that you can hear the smoke alarms from your bedroom.
• Smoke alarms should normally not be more than 10–12 m apart. The maximum floor space area that one smoke alarm can protect is 60 m ² .
• Don't put alarms in or near kitchens or garages where smoke or exhaust fumes can set them off by accident. Neither is it advisable to fit smoke alarms in bathrooms or close to fans.

Note: A smoke alarm must not be painted over.

3. Radio signal reliability

Every building has its own unique radio transmission characteristics and the wireless signal transmission of your alarms can change over time depending on various factors so we cannot guarantee the range of the range of the radio signals. The operation and range of the alarms should be checked regularly to ensure that they can be heard from your bedroom.

4. Setting the radio signal code

If you wish to interconnect several alarms into a system, all the alarms need to be set to the same code. When sold, all the smoke alarms are set to code 1 by default. We therefore recommend that you change the code whenever installing a system. The same rule applies if by some chance you should happen to have a false alarm because your neighbour's smoke alarm is set to the same code (or code 0, as explained below). Whenever you have changed the code of your smoke alarm system, you should check to make sure that they work (refer to Test and maintenance).

Special functions for code 0

When a smoke alarm is set to code 0, it can be set off by any alarm no matter which code the other alarm is set to after a delay of 3 minutes, i.e. if another alarm goes off for longer than 3 minutes, even an alarm set to code 0 will go off. This special function can be utilized in corridors or stairways to safeguard communal escape routes for several apartments.

If a smoke alarm set to code 0 goes off, it has priority and sets off any other alarms no matter which codes they are set to. This function can be used for stairways, children's bedrooms and other areas of a house.

5. Installation/mounting

1. Detach the mounting plate by twisting it anti-clockwise.
2. Insert a battery and connect the battery terminal. The red light should now come on and the alarm will sound for a short while. If the alarm sounds the functions are working, and the alarm is now ready for installation.

Handy hint: Before attaching the mounting plate to the ceiling, you should make sure that the radio signal is within the range of any other interconnected alarms. Try changing the position of one or several of the alarms if they are out of range (refer to Test and maintenance).

1. Screw the mounting plate onto the ceiling using the provided screws.
2. Reattach the alarm to the mounting plate.

6. Functions

Alarm/Pre-alarm

When a smoke alarm detects a fire it emits a “full alarm” (continuous beeping) and begins sending radio signals to the other alarms on the same code.

The alarms which receive a radio signal start to emit a “pre-alarm” (one beep every 6 seconds) for 30 seconds so that you have a chance to localize the detecting alarm or turn off any accidentally triggered alarms.

An alarm can be turned off in two ways

• Pressing the test button of a secondary alarm will cause that alarm to stop sounding immediately (however other alarms will continue for as long as the primary alarm detects smoke).
• Pressing the test button of the primary alarm, this stops the primary alarm from sounding immediately and turns the other alarms off after a delay of 25–40 seconds.

Memory

The primary smoke alarm which initiated the alarm has a memory that is indicated by a double flash and a short beep every 8th second for 12 hours. This signal can be stopped by pressing the alarm's test button.

Pause function (reduced sensitivity)

If you suspect that the smoke alarm might be about to go off (by smoke or steam from a kitchen), press the test button once briefly to temporarily reduce the sensitivity of the alarm for roughly 10 minutes (thereafter the alarm will return to full sensitivity).

The alarm emits two short beeps to confirm that the pause function has been activated and the test light double-flashes every 8th second. If you wish the pause function to be shorter, press the test button again and the sensitivity will return to normal immediately. This is confirmed by three short beeps.

Silencing undesired alarms

Pressing the test button of the detecting (primary) alarm after it has gone off will silence the alarm immediately. The test light will continue to flash for as long as the smoke level is higher than the threshold of the sensitivity reduction mentioned above. The other smoke alarms will continue to sound for 25–40 seconds, but in a different way (refer to Alarm/Pre-alarm, Memory).

7. Battery warning and battery replacement

The smoke alarm requires one 9 V battery (alkaline). A smoke alarm battery normally lasts for over a year. When it is time to change the battery, the alarm will emit a short beep every minute for up to 30 days (the alarm still works as normal during this time).

Each time a battery is connected, the smoke alarm performs an automatic self-test of the detection system and sensitivity setting. The test light (an LED inside the test button) comes on when the battery is connected and when the self-test is completed the alarm emits a long beep and the test light turns off. The test light flashes every 8 seconds to indicate that the smoke alarm is in full working order.

Moreover, the smoke alarm performs an automatic self-test every day. If the detection system is dirty and the alarm needs cleaning, the alarm emits 4 short beeps repeatedly. If there is fault or interference in the detection system, the alarm emits 2 or 3 short beeps. Technical faults can also be caused by external interference form electrical equipment, strong light sources, etc. Cleaning or moving the alarm might help alleviate the fault, otherwise the alarm should be sent in for a service. Please note that the signals for the activation and deactivation of the pause function are 2 short and 3 short beeps respectively (refer to Pause function).

Handy hint: If your battery does not last for a whole year, the reason may be due to another radio system close by which is working on the same frequency range. This problem can normally only be solved if the interfering radio system can be localised and deactivated.

8. Test and maintenance

The test light flashes every 8 seconds to indicate that the alarm is working correctly. You can also test each alarm personally by giving the test button a quick press. The alarm should sound and all functions (except radio transmission) are tested. At the same time, the smoke alarm is set to pause mode and two short beeps are emitted (refer to Pause function).

We recommend that your smoke alarm be tested at least once a month, preferably every week. We particularly stress the need for this check after re-occupation following a holiday etc. The smoke alarm will sound for as long as the test button is held in or there is smoke inside it. If the alarm does not sound when the test button is pressed, check that the battery is correctly connected or change the battery.

WARNING: Do not test the alarm using naked flames, these can damaged the alarm and are dangerous. We do not recommend that you test the alarm using smoke as results can be misleading if the correct test equipment is not used. The test button tests all the necessary functions of the smoke alarm.

To test the alarm's radio system, the test button must be held in for at least 4–5 seconds (this prevents the pause function from activating). The test light will then shine constantly for 40 seconds to indicate that radio transmissions are being sent. After a while, the other smoke alarms in your system should begin to sound – but in a different way. The alarm will stop sounding after 25–40 seconds. If you wish to check the other alarms in your system, you will need to wait for at least 40 seconds.

The smoke alarm should be regularly (and always when changing the battery) cleaned using a vacuum cleaner and soft brush and the housing can be wiped with a moist cloth.

9. Alarm signal guide

10. Important fire safety information

How to prevent fires

• Store the matches and lighters in a locked room out of the reach of children.
• Never leave naked flames such as candles unattended.
• Never empty ash trays into the waste paper bin or dust bin without first making sure that everything is properly extinguished.
• Add a little water to the ash tray before emptying it or let it stand overnight to make sure it is safe to empty.
• Before going to bed, make sure that fireplaces are properly extinguished or that the hearth is shielded so that no sparks can fly out and start a fire.
• Handle and store flammable liquids in a safe manner.
• Only use fuses of the correct rating in the house electrical system. Never experiment with homemade fuses of any kind.
• Replace any faulty electrical wiring, plugs or switches. Use only approved electrical appliances in your home.
• Do not place flammable objects next to electrical heating appliances.

Always be prepared for a fire

If your home catches fire the lives of your family could be decided in a few seconds.

Everyone in your household must be well prepared for emergencies.

Practice fire drills

• Plan alternative escape routes, choosing windows and doors suitable as emergency exits if the normal exits should happen to be blocked by smoke or flames. For high windows a fire escape ladder or rope should be organized.
• Agree upon a meeting point outside the house where the family can regroup in case of alarms.
• Keep bedroom doors closed during the night. A door can keep the fire at bay long enough for you to make your escape through a window.
• If you have any fire-fighting equipment, make sure that it works and that the members of your family know how to use it.
• Practice the fire drill with your family. You might want to pretend it is a game so as not to frighten small children.

If a fire breaks out

1. Wake everyone up and make sure that they leave the building. Follow the agreed upon escape plan.
2. If possible, close doors and windows to contain the blaze.
3. Ring the fire brigade (999) from your neighbour's house or mobile phone. If the fire is a small one, you can try to extinguish it yourself with a fire-extinguisher or hose. For really small fires a blanket can also be used. Make sure that you have a means of escape in case the fire should escalate.
4. If you cannot put the fire out yourself, get out of the building as quickly as possible.
5. Do not re-enter a burning building once you have escaped.

12. Guarantee

The smoke alarm is guaranteed for 5 years from date of purchase. The guarantee applies to faulty materials or workmanship and does not cover costs associated with the removal and/or installation of the alarm. We shall at our discretion repair or replace the faulty alarm. The guarantee only applies to normal conditions of use provided that the instructions for use have been followed. Faulty alarms should be returned to the place of purchase or distributor with details of the problem. The battery should also accompany the returned alarm.
