Frequently Asked Questions - LBX8 Ikan

How do I refill the Ikan LBX8 lighter?
To refill, turn the adjustment dial to minimum, release remaining gas. Use a standard butane can, insert nozzle into bottom valve, press firmly for 5-10 seconds. Wait 1 minute before use.
Why doesn't the LBX8 produce a spark?
Ensure the safety switch is unlocked. If still no spark, the flint may be worn. Replace the flint by unscrewing the flint screw and inserting a new one.
Is the Ikan LBX8 safe to carry in my pocket?
Yes, it has a child-resistant safety lock that prevents accidental ignition. Always ensure the flame is off and the device is cool before carrying.
How do I adjust the flame height on the LBX8?
Use the sliding adjustment dial at the bottom of the lighter. Slide towards + for larger flame and – for smaller flame.
What type of gas should I use for refilling?
Use high-quality butane gas designed for lighters. Avoid low-grade gas as it may clog the nozzle.
How do I clean the nozzle if it gets clogged?
If flame is weak or uneven, use a can of compressed air to blow out the nozzle. Alternatively, use a thin needle to clear debris, but be careful not to damage the nozzle.
Can the Ikan LBX8 be used for lighting candles?
Yes, it is ideal for lighting candles, grills, fireplaces, and cigars. The adjustable flame allows precise control.
How long does the gas last in a full refill?
At continuous flame, approximately 1 hour. With intermittent use, it can last several days depending on frequency.
Is there a warranty for the Ikan LBX8?
Ikan products typically come with a 90-day limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Check with the retailer for specific terms.
What should I do if the lighter leaks gas?
Immediately stop using it. Check that the refill valve is closed tightly. If leak persists, do not use and contact Ikan support. Keep away from heat sources.

Cleaning & Maintenance

CAUTION! Disconnect power before cleaning or maintenance.

CLEANING

Frequent cleaning is recommended to insure proper function, optimized light output, and an extended life. The frequency of cleaning depends on the environment in which the fixture operates: damp, smoky, or particularly dirty environments can cause greater accumulation of dirt on the fixture.

Never use alcohol, solvents, or ammonia- based cleaners

MAINTENANCE

Regular inspections are recommended to insure proper function and extended life. There are no user serviceable parts inside this fixture. Please refer all other service issues to an authorized ikan service technician. Should you need any spare parts, please order genuine parts from your local ikan dealer.

Cleaning & Maintenance continued...

Please refer to the following points during routine inspections:

  • Be sure all screws and fasteners are securely tightened at all times. Lose screws may fall out during normal operation resulting in damage or injury as larger parts could fall.
  • Check for any deformations on the housing, rigging hardware and rigging points (ceiling, suspension, trussing). Deformations in the housing could allow for dust to enter into the fixture. Damaged rigging points or unsecured rigging could cause the fixture to fall and seriously injure a person(s). Electric power supplies and cables must not show any damage or fraying. Never remove the ground prong from the power cable.

DO NOT shake fixture and avoid using brute force when installing and/or operating the fixture.

Always install the fixture with an appropriate safety cable. When installing the fixture in a suspended environment, always use correct mounting hardware that can be inserted into the Baby 1/8 in. or Junior 1-1/8 combo pin adapter.
