Frequently Asked Questions - MT300M Bogen

How do I connect speakers to the MT300M?
Use the screw terminals on the rear panel. For low impedance speakers, match the impedance (4 ohms minimum). For constant voltage systems, select 25V, 70V, or 100V taps accordingly.
What is the maximum power output of the MT300M?
The MT300M delivers 300W RMS into a 4-ohm load or at the rated constant voltage (25V/70V/100V).
Can I bridge the MT300M for more power?
No, the MT300M is not designed for bridging. It is a single-channel amplifier.
Does the MT300M have a built-in preamp?
No, it is a power amplifier only. It accepts line-level signals (1V sensitivity) via balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA inputs.
How do I adjust the volume on the MT300M?
Use the front panel volume control knob. Turn clockwise to increase volume.
What input connectors does the MT300M support?
It has balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA input connectors for flexibility.
How should I clean the MT300M?
Disconnect power and wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
Is the MT300M fan cooled?
Yes, it has an internal variable-speed fan that adjusts to keep the amplifier cool during operation.
What safety precautions should I follow?
Operate in a dry location, do not block the fan or ventilation slots, and avoid exposure to moisture. Use proper rackmount ventilation.
Where can I obtain spare parts or service for the MT300M?
Contact an authorized Bogen service center. Refer to the manual or Bogen website for service locations.

The MT300M Distributed Transformer is designed to be used with Bogen Platinum amplifiers up to PS240, Nyquist PA Series amplifiers up to PA240, and Nyquist A series amplifiers up to A240 to drive high-impedance distributed loudspeaker systems.

Output Connections

To drive distributed speaker systems designed to operate at 25V or 70V, connect your distributed loudspeaker system to the output of the MT300M transformer module. Connect output wiring using the Phoenix input. Maintain proper polarity (+/COM) on output connector. Either 25V or 70V can be selected (not both), depending on the distributed system. The MT300M is rated at a maximum of 250W RMS at 25V or 70V.

Input Connections

Connect your power amplifier output to the MT300M transformer input using the Phoenix connector, observing proper polarity (+/COM) on input connector.

Use of a high-pass filter (aka a low-cut filter) set at a minimum of 50 Hz is necessary when using the MT300M transformer module to drive a 25V or 70V distributed loudspeaker system to prevent distortion due to transformer saturation.

The input and output connections are shown in Figure 1.
