Please read the user manual carefully before using your Hamax bicycle helmet.
Thank you for choosing a Hamax bicycle helmet.
Safety
When children and/or adults cycle or engage in other types of summer activities, there will often be a little rough and tumble. Thus, it is important to protect the head with a solid, safe helmet. Also, equipment is often subject to rough treatment. This is why the Hamax bicycle helmets are designed to withstand stress and strains, as well as offering an optimal level of protection to the user.
WARNING: A bicycle helmet will never guarantee 100% protection - caution should be exercised when cycling, skateboarding and roller skating.
WARNING: The helmet's materials will react to cleaning agents, paint and other chemical additives. The damage will not necessarily be visible. If the helmet is exposed to such substances, it should be scrapped and a new helmet purchased.
Area of use
Helmet for cycling, skateboarding and roller skating. Approved in accordance with European standard CE EN 1078+Al:02/2013 & UE 2016/425.
Important:
- If the bicycle helmet is subject to strong blows, e.g. during a fall or accident, it should be scrapped and a new helmet purchased, even if there is no visible damage.
- Hamax bicycle helmets approved in accordance with EN 1078+Al:02/2013 & UE 2016/425 should not be used for playing, climbing or any other activity where a risk of strangulation is present.
- The helmet's different parts and components must not be removed or modified other than on the recommendation of Hamax. Other equipment and accessories must not be attached to the helmet other than those recommended by Hamax. Such actions may affect the helmet's abilities to prevent damage.
- Caution should be exercised towards yourself and others when cycling or skateboarding/roller skating.
Choose the right size
The helmet is only protecting you optimally when it fits your head. Always try out different sizes and models so that you can choose the right one for you that feels secure and comfortable.
- The helmet's size is described in cm, calculated out from the head's circumference. Most of the bicycling helmets from Hamax come in different sizes and with the Etto Powerstrap adjustment system.
- The correct size will have been selected when the helmet sits firmly on the head, without any uncomfortable pressuring points. Make sure that there is not any space between the head and the padding. Use Etto Powerstrap to achieve an optimal fit.
- Place the helmet horizontally on the head for optimal protection (see picture).

- Adjust the straps so that they form an Y shape, as close to the ear as possible, and fasten the straps under the chin (see picture).
- Adjust the chin strap by loosening or tightening through the buckle. The straps should sit tightly on your skin without being uncomfortable.
- The buckle shall be positioned away from the jawbone.
- Always fasten the chin strap for optimal protection and correct use of the helmet.

Etto Powerstrap®
Most of the Hamax bicycling helmets are equipped with the Etto Powerstrap adjustment system. Turn the adjustment wheel clockwise to tighten the helmet around the head and counter clockwise to closely without uncomfortable pressure.

Maintenance:
Clean the Hamax bicycle helmet with a moist cloth and mild soap. Rinse the padding inside the helmet in hot water or wash it in the washing machine at 40°C. Store the helmet in a dry place without direct sun light. Transport the helmet in a secure way without the hazard of damaging it. Check to see if the helmet is damaged before using it.
We recommend that the helmet is replaced 5 years after the first use. If the helmet is involved in an accident, it must be replaced immediately.
This helmet is designed to protect impact caused by collision of head with an obstacle while cycling or roller skating. It has passed EN 1078+Al:02/2013 and conforms to the EHSR of Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
