Frequently Asked Questions - AXAMP-CH3 Axxess

How do I connect my audio source to the AXAMP-CH3?
Use high-quality RCA or 3.5mm cables to connect your source device (e.g., smartphone, computer) to the corresponding inputs on the rear panel. Select the correct input using the front panel selector.
What speakers can I use with this amplifier?
This amplifier is designed for passive speakers with an impedance of 4 to 8 Ohms. Ensure the speaker power handling is compatible with the amplifier's output (up to 50W per channel).
The amplifier does not power on. What should I check?
First, ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the amplifier and a working wall outlet. Verify that the power switch on the front panel is in the 'ON' position. If it still doesn't work, test with another power cord or outlet.
Why is there no sound from the speakers?
Check that the speakers are correctly connected to the speaker terminals. Make sure the input source is active and the volume knob is turned up. Also confirm that the correct input source is selected on the front panel.
How do I clean the amplifier?
Unplug the amplifier before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use any liquids, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
Can I use this amplifier in a car?
No, this amplifier is designed for indoor home use only and requires a standard AC power supply (100-240V). It is not suitable for automotive or outdoor use.
What is the maximum power output of the AXAMP-CH3?
The amplifier delivers up to 50W RMS per channel into 4 Ohms. Peak power may be higher, but RMS is the continuous rating.
The amplifier gets hot during use. Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal for the amplifier to become warm during operation due to the passive heatsink cooling. However, if it becomes extremely hot or if thermal protection activates, ensure proper ventilation and reduce the volume level.
Does the AXAMP-CH3 support Bluetooth?
No, this model does not have built-in Bluetooth. You can connect a Bluetooth receiver to one of the audio inputs if you need wireless streaming.
How do I repair or service the amplifier?
There are no user-serviceable parts inside. If you encounter any issues, contact AXESS customer support or an authorized service center. Do not open the casing, as it may void the warranty.

INSTALLATION OPTIONS INSTALLATION

Adding a subwoofer to a factory system:

This feature offers the ability to add a subwoofer to a factory system, whether amplified or non-amplified (Refer to Page 3)

Adding a full-range amp and subwoofer to a factory system:

This feature offers the ability to add a full-range amp and sub to a factory system, whether amplified* or non-amplified. (Refer to Page 3)

* For amplified models the amp must be bypassed/unplugged. Use either Axxess AXABH-CH2 or AXABH-CH4 (sold separately) to bypass the amp for best results.

Note: The interface provides a 12-volt 1-amp output to turn on aftermarket amp(s). If installing multiple amps, an SPDT automotive relay will be required if the amp turn-on current of all amps combined exceeds 1-amp. Use Metra part number E-123 (sold separately) for best results.

  1. Disassemble the dash, unplug all connectors, and then remove the factory radio.*
  2. Install the AXAMP-CH3 vehicle T-harness to the vehicle and make all necessary connections, but leave the amp turn-on wire disconnected.
  3. Plug the AXAMP-CH3 vehicle T-harness to the AXAMP-CH3 interface.
  4. Plug the AXAMP-CH3 interface harness to the AXAMP-CH3 interface.
  5. Connect the amp turn-on wire.
  6. Adjust your aftermarket amplifier to a desired listening level.
