USER MANUAL PMX-350 ALECTO
ECOUTER EN AVANT (PFL):
USERS MANUAL P&Q PMX-350
The P&Q PMX-350 is a high quality professional audio mixer, special designed for use in discotheques, studio's, PA systems etc.
Each channel has its own tone control and can be monitored.
Thanks to the CROSS-OVER control, it is easy to mix the audio signals coming from CHANNEL-1 and CHANNEL-2.
INPUTS
MICROPHONE:
- The XLR connector on the frontside is for the DJ microphone.(1)
- In case the microphone is of a symmetrical type, than plug it directly into the XLR socket.(2)
- In case the microphone is equipped with a 6.3mm plug, than use the 6,.3mm jack on the backside of the mixer.(2)
- Adjust the microphones volume with slider CH-1.(3)
- The HIGH, MID and LOW controllers are to adjust the high, mid and low frequencies.(4)
RECORD PLAYERS:
- On the backside of the PMX-350 are 2 pair of CINCH connections for 2 record players (PHONO). (5)
- Also on the backside an EARTH connector is located. Use it to connect the record player to earth.(6)
- Select PHONO with the PH/CD (7) switch to assign this channel for the use of record players. Also on the backside of the mixer, the input selector must be set to PH(ono). (8)
- Use faders CH-2 (9) and CH-3 (10) to control the volume.
- The HIGH, MID and LOW controllers are to adjust the high, mid and low frequencies.(4)
LINE:
Remark: except for record players and microphones, all audio sources have an output level of about 150 to 250mV. This is called the LINE level.
- This kind of equipment must be connected to the input terminals LINE.(11)
- Select position LINE to assign the corresponding channel for the use of LINE equipment.
- Use faders CH-1 (3), CH-2 (9) and CH-3 (10) to control the volume.
- The HIGH, MID and LOW controllers are to adjust the high, mid and low frequencies.(4)
OUTPUT
The PMX-350 is equipped with 3 output terminals of which 2 have its own volume control.
MASTER:
The MASTER output (12) is for connecting to the main amplifier.
Use the controller MASTER to adjust the volume.(21)
MONITORING:
To the output terminal "BOOTH", (13) an amplifier can be connected which can be used for your own monitoring or can be used to reproduce sound in another room.
Adjust this volume with controller BOOTH.(22)
RECORDING:
A recording device can be connected to the output terminals REC. The output level of this signal is only influenced by the position of the sliders.(14)
PRE FADE LISTENING (PFL):
The PMX-350 has a so called PFL-function with which it is possible to optimize the several input signals. In case the input level is too high, distortion can occur and in case this signal is too weak, the signal to noise level increases. When pressing the buttons PFL (Pre-Fade-Listening) each input signal can be monitored through the headphone and can be adjusted using the PRESET controllers.(23)
HEADPHONE:
For the pre-fade-listening function, a headphone must be connected to the connection PHONES on the frontside.(15) The volume is to be controlled by the LEVEL controller.(24)
Use the slider PFL/PGM to select whether the headphone produces the PFL signal or the output signal.(16)
DIVERS
CROSS-FADER:
With the slider CROSS-FADER it is possible to smoothly change from channel-2 to channel 3.(17)
AUTO TALK:
When this button (18) is depressed, the music channels are attenuated when and as long you speak into the microphone.
BEAT LEDS:
The BEAT-LEDS are indicators. These LEDS's give you a visual idee of the bass levels. This function makes your mixing easier. (19)
BALANCE:
With the BALANCE controller, the left-right ratio can be adjusted.(20)
