How do I replace the lamp on my Planar PD8150?

Turn off and unplug the projector. Allow the lamp to cool for at least 30 minutes. Remove the lamp cover screw, lift the cover, disconnect the lamp connector, and remove the old lamp. Insert the new lamp (compatible P-VIP 200W) and reconnect. Replace cover and screw. Reset the lamp timer in the menu.

What is the maximum projection size?

The Planar PD8150 can project images from 30 to 300 inches diagonal, depending on distance and zoom. Use the zoom and focus rings to adjust.

Can I connect my laptop to this projector?

Yes, use a VGA cable (HDMI not available on this model). Connect the VGA cable from your laptop to the projector's VGA input. Select the correct input source using the 'Source' button.

How do I clean the air filter?

Turn off the projector and unplug. Locate the air filter on the side. Remove the filter cover, take out the filter, and gently vacuum or wash with mild soap and water. Allow to dry completely before reinstalling.

What does the 'Temp' LED indicator mean?

A red Temp LED indicates the projector is overheating. Ensure vents are not blocked, clean the air filter, and reduce ambient temperature. If the problem persists, contact service.

How do I adjust the keystone correction?

Press the 'Keystone' button on the remote or menu. Use the arrow keys to correct vertical keystone distortion up to ±15 degrees. For best image quality, position the projector perpendicular to the screen.

Is there a reset function for lamp hours?

Yes, go to the menu > Setup > Lamp Reset. Hold 'Enter' for 3 seconds to clear the lamp hour counter. Only reset after replacing the lamp.

Can I use this projector for home theater?

Yes, the PD8150 offers 3000 lumens and XGA resolution, suitable for dimly lit rooms. For best results, use a screen and control ambient light. Audio output via built-in speaker or external.

What should I do if the image is upside down?

Go to the menu > Display > Projection Mode and select 'Ceiling Mount' or 'Rear Projection' as needed. This will flip the image horizontally or vertically.

How do I update firmware?
