Frequently Asked Questions - BT8385-RTC B-Tech

What is the BT8385-RTC used for?
The BT8385-RTC is a rail-to-column mounting bracket designed to attach a rail to a BT8385 column. It is commonly used for mounting AV equipment.
Is the BT8385 column included with the bracket?
No, the column is sold separately. The bracket is specifically designed for use with the BT8385 column.
What tools are required for installation?
The bracket comes with two hex keys: a 4mm and a 5mm (AF). Additionally, a screwdriver may be needed, but the provided tools are sufficient.
What is the weight capacity of this bracket?
The manual does not specify a weight capacity for the bracket alone. It is crucial to ensure the total weight of mounted equipment does not exceed the column's maximum load and to follow safety instructions.
Can I install this bracket myself?
B-Tech recommends installation by a qualified professional. Incorrect installation can cause instability or injury. If you have experience, follow the manual carefully.
What hardware is included in the package?
The package includes: 1 bracket, 4 M6x40mm CSK hex screws, 4 rectangle nuts, 4 M8 sliding inserts, 4 M8x12mm screws, one 4mm hex key, and one 5mm hex key.
How do I mount the bracket to the column?
Insert the M6 screws through the bracket and attach the rectangle nuts. Screw them two turns to leave the nut at the end. Then slide the bracket down the column's front slots to the desired height and tighten the screws.

Insert M8 sliding inserts into the rail (two in the top channel, two in the bottom). Screw M8 screws into the top inserts, leaving a 6mm gap. Hook the rail onto the bracket and secure with the remaining screws.
Is the bracket suitable for outdoor use?
No, the manual states indoor use only. Exposure to weather could cause corrosion or failure.
Where can I get spare parts or support?
Contact B-Tech at info@btechavmounts.com or an authorized dealer. Keep the manual for part numbers: M6 screws, rectangle nuts, M8 inserts, and M8 screws.
