No, for the SNV-6012M you should reuse the original black metal washer and spring washer. The Nylon ring is only needed for the SNV-6013.

How do I remove the existing lens?

Turn the existing lens counterclockwise while holding the camera module with your other hand. Be careful not to lose the spring washer.

How do I install the new lens?

Insert the washers (Nylon and spring for SNV-6013, or original washers for SNV-6012M) then screw the lens in clockwise until you feel resistance from the spring washer.

How do I focus the lens after installation?

Power up the camera and rotate the lens until the image is sharp and in focus.

Can I touch the glass parts of the lens?

No, avoid touching the glass parts to prevent smudges or damage.

What should I do if I cross-thread the lens?

Stop immediately and carefully unscrew. Cross-threading can damage both lens and camera mount. Always align threads properly.

Are there any special tools required for installation?

No special tools are required. Installation can be done by hand.

Please follow the procedures outlined in this guide for changing out the lens on the SNV-6012M and SNV-6013 cameras.

The procedure will be different for each camera.

Please take care not to touch the glass parts on the lenses after removing the protective coverings.

The package will include the actual lens and a Nylon ring shown above.

To install the lens on to the SNV-6013 camera, please open the camera.

Now remove the installed lens by turning it counter clockwise. Please hold the camera module with your other hand.

Please take care not to lose the spring-washer included with the original lens.

Take the new optional lens and insert the Nylon washer and spring washer, mount it to the camera as in the picture below.

Take care not to damage the threads or cross thread the lens.

Turn the lens until the spring washer starts to compress some pressure is felt.

Now power up and focus the camera by moving the lens until the picture is in focus.

You are now ready to mount and close up the camera.

For the SNV-6012M, when removing the included lens, you will find the lens has a black metal washer and a spring-washer. Take care not to misplace the washers as you will need them for the new lens installation.

Utilize the same two washers in the same order to mount the lens. (The Nylon washer included with the new lens will not be needed for the SNV-6012M)

Install the lens in to the camera.

Turn the lens until some pressure is felt, Now power up and focus the camera by moving the lens until the picture is in focus.

You are now ready to mount and close up the camera.
