Frequently Asked Questions - M-M7000RV Macrom

How do I connect the subwoofer to my receiver?
Use either the RCA line-level input or the speaker-level input. For line-level, connect a single RCA cable from the receiver's subwoofer output to the sub's LFE input. For speaker-level, connect the receiver's speaker outputs to the sub's speaker-level inputs, then from the sub's outputs to the main speakers.
What is the recommended crossover frequency?
Set the crossover frequency to around 80 Hz for a seamless blend with your main speakers. Adjust based on your speakers' capabilities and room acoustics.
Can I use this subwoofer in a car?
No, this subwoofer is designed for home use with AC power. For car audio, consider Macrom's automotive models.
Why is there no sound from the subwoofer?
Check all connections, ensure the subwoofer is powered on, the volume is turned up, and the receiver is sending a signal. Verify that the crossover setting is not too low and the phase is correct.
How do I adjust the phase?
Use the phase switch on the back panel. Set it to 0° or 180°. The correct setting is the one that produces the most bass at your listening position, usually when the subwoofer and main speakers are in phase.
What is the power consumption?
The power consumption varies with usage. At full power, it can draw up to 400 W. In standby mode, it consumes less than 0.5 W.
My subwoofer goes into protection mode, why?
Protection mode activates when the subwoofer detects overheating, overcurrent, or DC offset. Turn off the unit, let it cool, and check for shorted speaker wires or excessive volume.
How to clean the subwoofer?
Unplug the subwoofer and use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the cabinet. Do not use any liquids or cleaning agents. For the grille, gently vacuum or use a lint roller.
Is the subwoofer magnetically shielded?
No, this subwoofer is not magnetically shielded. Keep it at least 0.5 meters away from CRT televisions and magnetic media to avoid interference.
Where can I find the serial number?
The serial number is located on the back panel of the subwoofer, near the power cord. It is also printed on the original packaging.
