Frequently Asked Questions - SVCE550G SVAN

How do I install the SVCE550G kitchen hood?
Installation should be carried out by a qualified person. Ensure the height above the cooking surface is at least 65 cm for gas hobs and 55 cm for electric hobs. Use the provided template to mark screw positions, drill holes, and secure the hood. Connect the exhaust duct (diameter 150 mm) to the outlet. For recirculation mode, install a carbon filter (not included).
How often should I clean the grease filters?
Clean the aluminum mesh grease filters every 2 months under normal use. Remove them by pulling the handle, wash with warm soapy water or in a dishwasher at low temperature. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling. A dirty filter reduces performance and increases noise.
Can I use the hood in recirculation mode?
Yes, the SVCE550G can be used as a recirculation hood. You need to purchase a carbon filter (optional accessory). Install it behind the grease filter. The charcoal filter absorbs odors and should be replaced every 3-6 months.
How do I replace the LED lights?
The LED lights are built-in and should be replaced by a qualified technician. Do not attempt to open the light assembly yourself. Contact SVAN service for replacement parts.
Why is my hood loud?
Normal noise level is around 58 dB. If it becomes louder, check if the grease filters are dirty or if there is an obstruction in the duct. Also ensure the hood is securely mounted against the wall to avoid vibrations.
What is the maximum height for installation?
For optimal performance, install the hood between 55-75 cm above electric hobs and 65-85 cm above gas hobs. Do not exceed these heights to maintain efficient extraction.
Does this hood come with a remote control?
No, the SVCE550G does not include a remote control. It is operated via a slider switch on the front panel.
What duct diameter should I use?
The hood requires a duct with a diameter of 150 mm. Use rigid or flexible ducting suitable for kitchen exhaust. Ensure the duct is as short and straight as possible for best performance.
How do I reset the filter saturation indicator?
If your model has a filter saturation indicator, press and hold the light button for 5 seconds to reset after cleaning or replacing filters. Refer to your user manual for exact procedure.
Where can I find spare parts for the SVCE550G?
Spare parts such as grease filters, carbon filters, and LED modules can be ordered from SVAN authorized service centers or online. Use the exact model number SVCE550G when ordering.

INSTALLATION

Find the installation measurements from the table according to the model of your device. Install your device in accordance with the measurements and the diagram.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Before starting to install the device, check if the voltage stated on the type label agrees with the mains voltage. If no ground sign exists on the electrical diagram on the type label, no grounding would be necessary for power connection of the product. If the device is to be directly connected to the mains, an electrical switch should be provided in between, which must have a 3 mm gap between bipolar contact ends. Such electrical switch should conform to standards.

IMPORTANT

A minimum distance of 65 cm should be provided between the cooking device and the cooker hood. If the cooker hood shares the space with another device operating on non-electrical energy, the space must be specifically ventilated. In the space, the negative pressure must not exceed 4 Pa (0,00004 bar). The cooker hood flue should strictly not be connected to another flue that is used by any other device operating with non-electrical energy. Do not cook flamed food underneath your cooker hood. The cooker hood should be periodically cleaned and thus freed from any oil and similar deposits in order to prevent any fire risk and in order not to reduce the suction capacity of your device. You must absolutely observe statutory safety rules that have been established according to national standards. Before commencing any cleaning and/or repair work, strictly break the electrical connection of the device.

MAINTENANCE

Before commencing any maintenance operation, strictly break the electrical connection of the device. Depending on the frequency of use of the cooker hood, wash aluminum filters once a month in tepid water with detergent without damaging them. Before re-installing filters, be sure that they are dry. Clean stainless surfaces of the cooker hood with a soft cloth wetted with denatured ethyl alcohol or with a cleaner special for such surfaces. Do not use cleaners that could scratch surfaces. In cleaning painted surfaces, use a cloth wetted with tepid water and neutral detergent and then dry surfaces. Carbon filters will not be washed, they will be replaced once every 2 to 6 months, depending on the frequency of use.

CARBON FILTER INSTALLATION

1) Type KF-A / KF-C : There should be used 2 units of Carbon filters for two sides of the plastic body of the engine. There are two nails on the side of the plastic body of engine. Place each of the carbon filter on the nails and turn the filter 90 degrees (quarter tour) until a click sound is heard. Assemble the second filter by following the same directions to the other side of the plastic engine body. To dis-assemble the filters; follow the instruction from backwards.

2) Type KF-B: There should be used 1 unit of Carbon filter. The carbon filter should be placed to the front of the metal box which contains the engine kit inside. The nails on the bottom of the carbon filter should be placed to the holes on the metal box (the holes which are placed towards the wall) and the clips on the top of the carbon filter should be pushed into the metal box and locked.
