For Dolby digital, delay time adjustment is as follows:

1). Center channel delay time adjustment. Press the C-DLY button on the Remote controller, Centre indicator will light up. Press VOL+ or VOL-To adjust the required delay time.
2). Press the R-DLY button on the remote controller RL&RR Indicator will lights up. Press VOL+ or VOL- to adjust the delay time of RL and RR.

For PCM signal delay time adjustment is as follows:

1). Press the R-DRY on the remote controller, RL&RR indicator will light up.
2). Press the VOL+ or VOL- to adjust the required delay time.

Remark:

The delay time range of Dolby Digital 5.1:1. Centerchannel delay:0-5ms2. Rear channel delay:0-15ms

The delay time range of PCM:Rear channel delay:15-30ms

I Testing Channel Connection

1. Set up the system in 5.1 mode first, then press the TEST BUTTON. A noise will appear alternatively in the sequence of FL-C-FL-RR-RL-SW.
2. If no sound or queer noise is heard in a particular channel during the test, double check the wiring. Or VOL- button.
3. During the test you may adjust the level of various channel using the VOL+ or VOL- button.
4. To cancel the test, press the TEST button again.

Remark:

a. The subwoofer of this system is always on, and can not be turned off.
b. When a certain channel is under test, the corresponding indicator will blink.

J. Adjusting Dynamics Range

You may choose a dynamic range by pressing the DR button on the remote controller. There are four setting choices: 0%, 25%, 50% and 100%.

K. Listen

1. When the signal is DTS or Dolby Digital, Press the LISTEN button on the remote controller to select 2.1CH or 5.1CH (STEREO) effect.
2. When the signal is PCM, Press the LISTEN button to select 2.1 CH
   5.1CH (STEREO), PLⅡ MUSIC or PLⅡ MOVIE.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE ON TECHNICAL TERMS

• DTS Surround

DTS stands for Digital Theater Systems. It is also a 5.1 digital surround system but with a much smaller compression ratio when doing the encoding, thus theoretically it should sound even better.

• PCM High quality digital surround

PCM system enables a stereo sound track encoded on a DVD without compression. And as DVD has more rooms for storage, it is possible to engage the newer 96kHz/24bit system to do the recording.

• PCM High quality digital surround

Three DSP sound fields: live church, hall, stadium and theatre but only work together with PCM signals.

• STEREO

For listening to hi fi CDs etc.

1. Turn on the Power switch on the back, Standby indicator will light up and unit in standby condition.

2. Press the POWER button on the front panel or on the remote control. Standby indicator will be off and -25dB will show on the display, the Optical indicator will be light up, the unit is in normal status.

3. To power off, press the POWER button on the front panel or on the remote controller, the unit will be in standby status.

Remark: For first time power on, Optical indicator will light up. This denotes that the default input is optical.

B. Signal Selection

There are 6 source selection:3 digital(OPTICAL, COAXIAL1&COAXIAL2) and 3 analogue (CD, VCR and VCD). Take OPTICAL input as an example.

1. Press the INPUT button until optical indicator is light up. The optical input is then selected.

2. If you want to choose another signal source, do likewise until the one you want is selected.

3. You can also use the remote controller to select OPTICAL input, just press OPTICAL button may do so.

C. Volume Selection

You can press the VOL+ or VOL- button on the front panel or on the remote control to increase or decrease the main volume output. The level will show on the display, when the level reaches -80dB, this denotes the minimum volume. On the other hand, when 0dB is reached, this denotes the maximum volume.

D. Mode Selection

When the signal is Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1, only Dolby Digital, DTS, or Stereo modes can work. If the signal is 2 channel Dolby, then you can either select Stereo or Pro Logic II mode. If it is ordinary PCM, then you can select Stereo, Pro Logic II and DSP modes. Operation is as follows:

TUNER

1.)Turn the unit "ON" by using the "POWER" switch on the rear metal cabinet.
2.)Press "TUN/ ENTER" button on remote handset to select tuner function.
3.) Press "AM/ FM "button on remote handset to select band as desired.
4.) Tune in the desired station using the tuning "UP" and "DOWN" button on remote handset.

If the FM ST band is chosen, the FM "ST" stereo indicator will light to indicate stereo reception.

To listen in mono or to improve noisy, weak-signal stereo broadcasts, set the "MO/ST" button to MO on remote handset. The stereo indicator (ST) will go off and FM mono (MO) is now received.

Preset tuning

1) Tune to a station desired to be memorized
2.) Press the "MEMORY" button on Remote Handset.
3.) Press the "PRESET+" button to enter the station that memory location.
4) Press "MEMORY" button again to memorize
5.) Repeat for next station to memorize.
6.)Press"MEMORY"button to select preset stations.

Note: There are 20 presets for AM band and 20 presets for FM band.

Fine tuning

Press"STEP+" or "STEP-" to select the best reception.

To install external AM loop

AM: If AM reception is weak, move the AM loop antenna for best reception.

FM: The receiver has an FM wire antenna hanging from the cabinet.

This wire should be totally unravelled and extended for best reception.

SYSTEM CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS

Use the SPEAKER OUTPUT jacks on the rear panel of main unit to connect to the satellite speakers.

SYSTEM CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO USE THE REMOTE CONTROL

1. Before using the remote controller, please insert correct type of batteries into the battery compartment.
2. The remote controller uses 2x1.5V/AAA batteries.
3. Please insert the batteries as indicated below.

A. Remove battery compartment cover.

B. Insert 2 batteries as per the polarities marked inside the battery compartment.

C. Replace the battery cover.

1. If the remote controller does not function, please check the batteries or change the batteries before consulting technical personnel.
2. To properly use the remote controller, please put its front emitter right at the receiving lattice (remote sensor) of the main system.
3. The normal and effective distance for operating the system by the remote controller is 7 meters within the system, and at 30 angle left or right diverged away from the system.

FRONT PANEL - CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS

1. Press the MODE button on the front panel until Prolog II indicator is light up. Then Pro Logic II mode is selected
2. Selection of other mode is similar
   Remark 1. When the signal is PCM or Stereo, there will be no Dolby Digital or DTS decoding, but you can use Prolog II decoding
3. Dolby Digital, DTS and Prolog II signals can be downmixed to stereo mode.
4. When the signal is not Dolby Digital or DTS, it is recommended. To select the stereo mode for a even better effect.

E. Muting

1. Press the MUTE button on the remote controller, the number will blink on the display and all outputs will be muted.
2. To cancel muting, press the MUTE button again on the remote controller.

F. Channel Level Trimming

All channel levels can be individually trimmed for ±10dB. Take Left channel for example:

1. Press the LEVEL button on the remote controller, the Left indicator will blink.
2. Press the VOL+ or VOL- button to adjust the level
3. Do likewise to the other channels

G. DSP Soundeffects

Press the DSP button on the remote controller H-1, H-2, H-3, H-4, and H-5 will appear consecutively upon repeated pressing the DSP button. It covers the following soundeffects:

1) H-1 represents Live, 2) H-2 represents Church,
3) H-3 represents Hall; 4) H-4 represents Stadium;
5) H-5 represents Theatre

Remark DSP only works under ordinary PCM input

H. Channel Adjusting Delay Time for Center and Rear Channels

Different signals offer different delay time modes.

Dolby digital signal allows both centre and rear channels time delay, PCM signal allows only rear channel time delay, while DTS offers no time delay

INTRODUCTION

It is a home theater subwoofer amplifier with six channels amplifier and Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS decoder inside, you can use it to get 5.1 channels surround sound. You can connect to DVD player, PS 2 and set top box, you just need digital audio interface like optical or coaxial, you can enjoy multi-channel surround sound in your living room.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Before setting up this system, please read this manual carefully and keep in a safe place for future reference. This system will turn your room into a spacious environment like being inside a music hall.

• Dolby Pro Logic II

Dolby Pro Logic II is a complete evolution from Dolby Pro Logic. Though both of them use matrix system to handle audio signal, Pro Logic does it in the analogue domain, whereas Pro Logic II does it digitally, so it is beyond comparison how the latter is better. The high speed data handling enable the stereo signal to be matrixed into 5.1 channel. Thus even ordinary TV sound, VCD, VHS, or CD music without any Dolby encoding, can produce the sort of 5.1 channel sound field under Pro Logic II decoding. On top of this, all channels in Pro Logic II are working in full band audio (20–20kHz), therefore, the drawbacks of Pro Logic for having a 7kHz surround bandwidth and only one surround signal are eliminated.

• Dolby Digital Surround

Formerly known as AC-3, Dolby Digital is one of the best full digital surround systems. This system has 5.1 channels, the 5 channels refer to Left, Center, Right, Rear left & Rear right, while the 5.1 channel refers to the LFE or subwoofer channel. Ordinary Dolby Digital AV amps have only 5 channels, and the user has to add an active subwoofer, but in our machine, there is already a subwoofer built in.

You may trouble shoot the following faults according to the solutions. Please consult your dealer should you encounter other faults.
