How do I brew coffee with the Black & Decker CM620B?

Fill your mug with cold water and pour into the water reservoir. Add ground coffee or a 70mm soft pod to the filter basket. Place your mug on the adjustable tray and press the ON/OFF button. The blue light will illuminate and brewing begins.

Can I use K-Cups with this coffee maker?

No, this model is designed for 70mm soft pods or ground coffee. K-Cups are not compatible.

How do I set the clock and auto brew timer?

Press the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the clock. For auto brew, press PROG/AUTO, set the desired time using HOUR and MIN, then press and hold PROG/AUTO until the light stops flashing.

Why is my coffee weak or watery?

Ensure you are using the correct amount of coffee: 1.5 tablespoons for a regular mug (8 oz) or 3 tablespoons for a travel mug (16 oz). If using soft pods, use one pod for 8 oz and two for 16 oz. Also, check that the filter basket is properly seated.

How do I clean the coffee maker?

Unplug and let cool. The permanent filter and filter basket are dishwasher safe (top rack). Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. For descaling, mix 8 oz white vinegar and 8 oz water, brew a cycle, then repeat with fresh water.

How often should I descale the machine?

Descaling is recommended once a month or when you notice slower brewing or steam. Use a vinegar-water solution as described in the manual.

Can I brew hot water for tea or other drinks?

Yes, simply follow the brewing steps without adding coffee grounds or soft pods. The machine will dispense hot water into your mug.

What is the capacity of the water reservoir?

The reservoir can hold up to 16 fl oz (travel mug size). Do not fill past the Max fill line inside.

How do I adjust the mug tray?

The mug tray has two positions: nested for a travel mug, and stacked for a regular mug. Simply lift and reposition the tray to fit your mug.

What does the two-year warranty cover?

BREWING COFFEE

CLEANING

1. Unplug the unit and ensure it has cooled before cleaning.

2. To clean the permanent filter and filter basket, open the cover, remove the permanent filter and

after basket, discard grounds or soft pods, and place in the dishwasher on the top rack or clean in warm, soamy water.

CLEANING WITH VINEGAR

Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog your combemaker. Cleaning is recommended once a month. Expressive sleaming or a prominent brewing cycle is a sign that a cleaning is needed.
