For additional security and/or safety, an optional safety bolt is provided (Part 5). The pole may be drilled through to accommodate this bolt at the installers discretion. The absence of this bolt does not effect the load bearing capacity or stability of the collar, provided that the four grub screws (Part 2) are sufficiently tightend.
