Frequently Asked Questions - ARA43-W2 Dahua Technology

How do I pair the ARA43-W2 siren with my alarm system?
Press and hold the pair button on the side for 3 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. Then activate pairing mode on your alarm panel. The siren will confirm with a steady green light.
What is the battery life of the backup battery?
The 9V alkaline backup battery lasts approximately 2-3 years in standby mode, but it does not power the siren during an alarm (the main 12V adapter is required for full volume).
Can I install the siren outdoors?
Yes, the ARA43-W2 has an IP65 rating, making it weather-resistant. However, avoid direct water spray and extreme sun exposure for long life.
How loud is the siren?
It produces up to 110 dB at 1 meter, which is suitable for deterring intruders and notifying neighbors.
Does the siren support multiple alarm zones?
No, the siren acts as a single output device. It triggers when any paired sensor or panel sends an alarm signal.
What should I do if the siren doesn't sound during a test?
Check the 12V power supply and battery backup. Also verify that the pairing with the panel is active. If the LED is off, power is disconnected.
How do I reset the siren to factory defaults?
Press and hold the pair button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes three times. All settings will be cleared.
Can I use more than one siren with the same system?
Yes, you can add multiple ARA43-W2 sirens. Each must be paired separately using the same procedure.
Is the siren compatible with third-party alarm panels?
It works with most panels that support 433 MHz or Zigbee (check variant). For other protocols, a converter may be needed.
How do I mount the siren?
Use the included mounting bracket and screws. Drill holes according to the template, attach the bracket, then slide the siren onto it and tighten the security screw.

1 Introduction

Alarm repeater is a wireless repeater device that extends the communication range between the alarm hub and other accessories, and forwards messages received from the accessory to the hub. It provides a secondary communication path for accessories, improving the overall stability and reliability of communication of the wireless security system. You can use the DMSS app to manually select a path for accessories or allow the system to automatically select one for them. It is suitable for security use in scenes, such as villas with multiple floors, garages that are far away from residential areas, or office buildings and shops with partitions.
