How to replace the battery?

Slide off the battery cover on the back. Remove the old 9V battery and connect a new one (6LR61 or equivalent). Replace the cover. The detector will beep once to confirm power.

Why does the detector trigger falsely?

False alarms can be caused by pets, moving heat sources (radiators), or mounting near HVAC vents. Reduce sensitivity or reposition the detector away from such sources.

How to adjust sensitivity?

Locate the sensitivity potentiometer on the rear panel. Turn it clockwise to increase range/angle, counterclockwise to decrease. Test by walking across the detection zone.

How to adjust time delay?

Find the time delay potentiometer (marked 'TIME'). Turn clockwise to lengthen the delay (up to 5 minutes), counterclockwise to shorten (minimum 10 seconds). The alarm will stay on for the set duration after motion stops.

The red LED lights up briefly when motion is detected and stays on during the alarm period. A flashing LED may indicate low battery or a fault.

No, the ALA-036 is designed for indoor use only. Exposure to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures can damage the unit.

Can it detect through walls?

No, the PIR sensor detects changes in infrared radiation from moving bodies. Walls block these signals, so it cannot detect through solid objects.

Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the lens. Do not use water, cleaning fluids, or abrasive materials, as they may damage the sensor or housing.
