• This appliance complies with applicable standards and regulations.
- Please check that the supply voltage indicated on the name plate of the appliance corresponds to your electrical installation.
Any error in connection will cancel the terms of your guarantee.
- The power cord must not be placed near or come into contact with rotating parts of the appliance, sources of heat or sharp corners.
- The motor unit, power cord and plug must not be immersed or rinsed in water.
- Do not leave the power cord hanging over the edge of the worktop.
- The appliance must only be used on a flat, stable, heat-resistant worktop, away from water splashes. Do not turn the appliance over.
- Never dismantle the appliance yourself. Simply carry out the usual care and cleaning steps as advised.
• Unplug the appliance:
- if it fails during operation,
- before assembly, disassembly, cleaning or maintenance.
- Never unplug the appliance by pulling on the power cord.
- Only use an extension after having checked that it is in perfect working order.
• Household appliances must not be used:
- if dropped,
- if damaged, or if parts are missing.
- If the appliance or power cord is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced by an approved Moulinex Service centre (see list in the Moulinex Service" booklet).
- This product has been designed for domestic use only. Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply.
• Children should not be allowed to play with the appliance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Sharp blades. Handle with care!
- Never place liquid in the coffee grinder bowl.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Your coffee grinder is equipped with a dual safety system. The I(dD) must be locked and the On/Off button (E) pressed for it to operate.
- Remove the coffee grinder from the packaging and clean the lid (D) with hot water.
- Place the motor unit (A) on a flat, stable, heat-resistant, dry surface.
- Place the coffee beans in the bowl (B).
- Place the lid (D) on the motor unit (A) and lock (see picture).
- Plug your appliance into the mains power supply.
- Hold the motor unit (A) with one hand and press the On/Off button (E) to start grinding the coffee.
- Do not run your coffee grinder continuously for more than 20 seconds.
- Wait for the blade(C) to come to a complete stop before opening the li(d).
- Unplug the appliance before emptying the ground coffee.

USE
- Your coffee grinder can grind up to 85g of coffee in 20 seconds (model 980), and 90g of coffee in 20 seconds (model 843).
- Do not run your grinder continuously for more than 20 seconds. Wait a few minutes before starting it again.

MAINTENANCE
- Unplug the appliance.
- Clean the coffee grinder bowl with a brush.
- Do not use scouring pads or objects containing metal parts.
- Never immerse the motor unit (A) in water. Dry with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR APPLIANCE DOES NOT WORK
Check that the appliance is plugged in and ensure that the lid (D) is correctly locked onto the motor unit (A).
Your appliance will not operate if these instructions are not observed. If you have followed all these instructions and your appliance still fails to operate: please contact your retailer or approved Mou linex Service centre (see list in the "Mo ulinex Service" booklet).
