HEATSINK ALUMINIUM MOSFET THERMAL GREASE CERAMIC

PUNCH EQUALIZATION
U.S. Patent (21,323)
In the early 70's, Jim Fosgate studied the acoustical properties of automobiles by using a real time analyzer. Jim discovered multiple problems common in all vehicles; a midbass hump, a steep high frequency roll off and reduced bass response. This research lead to adding Punch EQ to Rockford Fosgate amps to help correct the acoustical deficiencies found in the automotive listening environment. The new Punch EQ2 is an on-board equalization circuit that when set to Low-Pass (LP) operation, becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted.
Products Featuring on-board PUNCH EQ

MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY HEAT SINK APPLICATION
MEHSA3 heat management technology takes heat sink efficiency to a new level. The key was to create a dielectric layer between the ceramic topside and the aluminum base that retains all of the electrical isolation and capacitive coupling of the early material increasing its thermal conductivity. The higher power handling results in a 20% reduction in thermal impedance.
Products Featuring MEHSA

4/2/1
The ability to deliver continuous total RMS rated power to the speaker(s) in any impedance ranging between 4 ohm through 1 ohm.
Products Featuring 4/2/1

Amplifier Power Standard CEA CEA-2006 Compliant
CONSTANT POWER
CONSTANT POWER
U.S. Patent (7,994,857)
Music and speakers have a dynamic relationship. As the frequency of music varies, so does the impedance of the speaker. Rockford Fosgate's Constant Power circuit design actively monitors and increases voltage and current as the speaker's impedance rises with music. Resulting in up to a 25% increase in total amplifier power.
Products Featuring CONSTANT POWER

DYNAMIC THERMAL MANAGEMENT
Our engineers at Rockford Fosgate have developed an award winning cooling design called DTM (Dynamic Thermal Management). This patent pending design seamlessly manages the output and power supply temperatures, while evenly distributing the excess heat across the entire amplifier.
Products Featuring DTM

NON MULTIPLYING ADVANCED DECISION
Safe output protection is handled by our proprietary NOMAD circuit. NOMAD is an analog computer designed to calculate the maximum level of safe current allowable for each output device (based on their instantaneous voltage drop). This allows the protection to be much more precise than ever before; offering protection against:
- Reverse Polarity
- Short Circuit
- Thermal
- Low Impedance
- Under/Over Voltage
Products Featuring NOMAD

CEA-2006
Power ratings on Rockford Fosgate amplifiers conform to CEA-2006 industry standards. These guidelines mean your amplifier's output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings.
Products Compliant with CEA-2006

C.L.E.A.N.
Time and sophisticated test equipment have been replaced, with Rockford's integrated level setting technology called CLEAN (Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise). Using simple LED indicators to identify both signal clipping from the audio source and the output level clipping to the speakers. This precise level set-up eliminates speaker damaging distortion.
Products Featuring CLEAN

AMPLIFIER PERFORMANCE LINEUP
TOPOLOGIESEXPLAINED
Amplifier topology is the arrangement of parts in an amplifier design. These designs are broken out into 'classes'. Each class has tradeoffs, making the various classes suited for various applications...like Class D or BD with higher RMS power, but undesirable noise in the higher frequencies making it better suited to power subwoofers.

CLASS BD (Patent RE40550) -The Rockford Fosgate bd topology is more efficient than typical class AB and has lower distortion than class D designs. Rockford bd amplifiers are 75-80% efficient vs. 20-60% efficient class ab amplifiers. Delivering more power from your amplifier with less drain on your vehicles electrical and charging system.

CLASS AD -The Rockford Fosgate ad topology brings our high efficiency bd amplifier design to a full range application. Using our Dynamic Frequency Switching to increase the switching frequency during lower output levels for better signal resolution. Coupled with Post Choke Feedback Filtering to compare the input signal to the output signal at the speaker connector removing any unwanted distortion. These technologies eliminate the inherent switching noise associated with typical class D designs.

CLASS D -High efficiency amplifier design that reduces current consumption from the charging system

CLASS TA -The trans•ana topology operates the output stage with its full voltage gain, which allows the input stage to operate from a low voltage regulated supply. The signal is then shifted up in level to the high voltage section by the driver stage which forms an active node at ultrasonic frequencies. This results in a very stable, highly linear operation.

CLASS BR (Patent 8,212,620) -To achieve higher efficiency with lower distortion, Rockford's br topology combines, Cycle-by-Cycle, an indirectly coupled high/low voltage rail linear topology with a switched high/low voltage linear rail topology. This combination yields an unsurpassed power density (watts per cubic inch).

CLASS AB -The combination of a class B power output with the class A low distortion attributes make class AB the most common amplifier topology in the electronics industry.

FULL RANGE CLASS D -High efficiency amplifier design that reduces current consumption from the charging system

Sub WOOFERS PROPRIETARY ROCKFORD TECHNOLOGY
When you make a product purchase that bears the Rockford Fosgate name, you are receiving the technology, engineering, and innovation that has taken over three decades to hone. Our constant desire to push the performance envelope has lead us to develop proprietary amplifier topologies and acoustic/electrical technologies that put a spin on the normal and make it Rockford.

25% MORE CURE AREA
text_image
VASTVERTICAL ATTACH SURROUND TECHNIQUE
Rockford's proprietary surround technique, VAST, provides up to a 25% increase in the speakers effective radiating cone area without complicated installation issues. This design alters the typical design and manufacturing technique by eliminating the large flat glue surface area (the landing) which allows the surround to be shifted for increased cone area. In turn, both nominal efficiency and maximum output capabilities are dramatically improved.
Products Featuring VAST

SUBWOOFER PERFORMANCE LINEUP

text_image
SPL XMAX PEAK POWER SPL - Sound Pressure Level numbers reflect an in-car response utilizing dual subwoofers in a typical sedan size cabin at peak power. XMAX - The measured excursion of the subwoofer in one direction, with Peak-to-Peak covering its entire travel. The more air a woofer moves the higher the SPL. PEAK POWER - The maximum amount of amplifier power that can be applied to a subwoofer prior to entering into an unsafe operating scenario.

ANATOMY
of a subwoofer

Variations in the anatomy of a subwoofer dramatically changes their performance characteristics. An increase in voicecoil size coupled with a stronger cone material yields a higher power handling and increased output. By combining quality materials with Rockford's proprietary acoustic technologies, our subwoofer lineup is sure to meet your system's demands.

BASKET SPIDER VOICE COIL MAGNET CONE SURROUND
Basket - Also referred to as the frame or chassis, this is the skeletal system of the speaker. Here to keep everything in its place.

Surround - First part in the speakers suspension, attached to the cone to maintain the centering of the voice coil in the magnetic gap.

Spider - Second part of the speakers suspension, connects the cone and voice coil to the basket and controls the travel of the cone assembly.

Cone - A.K.A the diaphragm, this is the voice of the speaker. Shape and material dramatically change tonality.

Voice Coil - The brains of the operation, directing the force from the magnet to push or pull based on the applied electrical signal.

Magnet - The heart of speaker, creating the force to push and pull cone assembly. Size, material, and design may differ, depending on performance goals.

25% NOV CONE AREN
VERTICAL ATTACH SURROUND TECHNIQUE
Rockford's proprietary surround technique, VAST, provides up to a 25% increase in the speakers effective radiating cone area without complicated installation issues. This design alters the typical design and manufacturing technique by eliminating the large flat glue surface area (the landing) which allows the surround to be shifted for increased cone area. In turn, both nominal efficiency and maximum output capabilities are dramatically improved.
Products Featuring VAST

FLEX FIT
The slot mounted frame pattern of the Flex Fit basket utilizes slots (where feasible) instead of single screw sized holes. This allows slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Products Featuring FLEX FIT

RF LINK
Rockford's proprietary RF Link is a bus-power component connection system enabling integration and control of all RF Link equipped products. The use of this systems allows for the expansion of auxiliary controls and managed system turn on.

VERIFIED WITH KLIPPELDDC
DISCREET DUAL CLAMP
Rockford's proprietary tweeter mounting design provides concentric clamping pressure around the perimeter of the mounting hole, utilizing a single center screw. This applies balanced pressure to both faces of the mounting surface. From there, the tweeter simply snaps into place and is finished with a snap on trim ring.
Products Featuring DDC

INDUCTIVE DAMPING HEAT SINK
Secures directly to the top of magnet structure to improve system efficiency by reducing both distortion and back EMF (Electo-magnetic force). Also radiates heat to reduce voice coil temperature.
Products Featuring IDHS

INTEGRATED CONCEALED CROSSOVER
The Integrated Concealed Crossover hides the crossover inside the basket, creating a cleaner look and easier installation.
Products Featuring IC

CEA-2031
Power handling on Rockford Fosgate speakers conform to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means your speaker has the capacity to handle power under continuous demand, not instantaneous power handling that over time can damage voice coils.
Products Compliant with CEA-2031

Tweeter - Composed of the same parts as an speaker, surround, cone, voice coil, basket and magnet. Just on a smaller scale.

Cone - A.K.A the diaphragm, this is the voice of the speaker. Shape and material dramatically change tonality.

Crossover - Works like a switch board, directing the audio signal through caps, filters and switches to the appropriate speaker.

Basket - Also referred to as the frame or chassis, this is the skeletal system of the speaker. Here to keep everything in their place.

Surround - Works in harmony with the spider, attached to the cone to maintain the centering of the voice coil in the magnetic gap.

Magnet - The heart of speaker, creating the force to push and pull cone assembly. Size, material, and design may differ, depending on performance goals.

Amplifier Power Standard CEA CEA-2006 CompliantM2 MARINE GRADE
Rockford's M2 marine grade standard takes into account the devastating effects of the outdoor environment and takes extreme measures to ensure optimum performance. - 100% UV stable CENTREX® injection molded plastic • Corrosion resistant gold plated polarized terminals - Injection molded polypropylene cone with UV inhibitors - Internal full magnetic shielding • Stainless steel grilles and mounting hardware - UV and salt fog resistant thermo-plastic elastomer surroundASTM B117 - SALT/FOG &
D4329 - UV TEST STANDARDS
ASTM B117 salt/fog test standard provides accelerated aging in a controlled corrosive environment to produce relative corrosion resistance information for specimens of metals and coated metals. ASTM D4329 test standard is intended to induce property changes associated with end-use conditions, including the effects of sunlight, moisture, and heat.CEA-2031
Power handling on Rockford Fosgate speakers conform to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means your speaker has the capacity to handle power under continuous demand, not instantaneous power handling that over time can damage voice coils.CEA-2006
Power ratings on Rockford Fosgate amplifiers conform to CEA-2006 industry standards. These guidelines mean your amplifier's output power ratings are REAL POWER numbers, not inflated marketing ratings. text_image
25% OFF ONIONVERTICAL ATTACH SURROUND TECHNIQUE
U.S. Patent (Patent Pending) Rockford's proprietary surround technique, VAST, provides up to a 25% increase in the speakers effective radiating cone area without complicated installation issues. This design alters the typical design and manufacturing technique by eliminating the large flat glue surface area (the landing) which allows the surround to be shifted for increased cone area. In turn, both nominal efficiency and maximum output capabilities are dramatically improved. natural_image

The slot mounted frame pattern of the Flex Fit basket utilizes slots (where feasible) instead of single screw sized holes. This allows slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted. natural_image

Bluetooth®
 BLUETOOTH®
A2DP wireless audio streaming via the included dongle allows you to listen to audio from any BLUETOOTH enabled device.RF LINK
Rockford's proprietary RF Link is a bus-power component connection system enabling integration and control of all RF Link equipped products. The use of this system allows for the expansion of auxiliary controls and managed system turn on.FREQUENCY NORMALIZATION OF AUDIO SIGNALS
U.S. Patent (7.778,718,B2) Frequency normalization is achieved by characterizing the frequency response of the audio source based on a reference input signal. This reference input signal is used to establish a reference frequency response, which is stored in memory and used to select equalizer settings. The system restores missing spectral content by summing multiple input signals from the audio source. The system then normalizes the frequency response based on characterizations of the signal by utilizing equalizer settings from memory. 3SIXTY GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE (GUI) text_image

EXCEEDING THE STANDARD
The American Wire Gauge standard was developed to rationalize selecting wire for a particular purpose. In an electronic environment wire size can have a significant impact on performance. Rockford Fosgate products are designed and engineered to perform at a superior level. It is only fitting that the accessories linking them together perform with the same expectation.THE AMERICAN WIRE GAUGE STANDARD
The American Wire Gauge standard specifies the exact amount of copper needed to indicate a specific wire diameter or gauge. Rockford Fosgate accessories are all designed and engineered in accordance with the AWG specification. bar
AWG STANDARDS | Category | Total Sales (%) | Net Sales (%) | Net Profit ($) | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | LPGS | 12 | 10 | 3 | | LPGS | 15 | 11 | 4.8 | | LPGS | 16 | 9.7 | 2.1 | | LPGS | 17 | 9.1 | 1.5 | | LPGS | 18 | 9.4 | 1.2 | | LPGS | 19 | 10.1 | 2.3 | | LPGS | 20 | 10.1 | 1.6 | The chart displays a table with three rows: 'Total Sales (%)', 'Net Sales (%)', and 'Net Profit ($)'. The last row is a duplicate of the first row to close the table. All values are in currency units.ANATOMY OF WIRE
The construction of wire is broken out into three elements, strands, clusters and bundles. Varying these combinations will directly change the wire gauge and significantly effect the flexibility of the wire. flowchart
