This refrigerator is designed for home use only. Do not use this refrigerator for the business use and/or any purpose other than storing food.
Please read this operation manual carefully and ensure you use the appliance correctly. In particular, be sure to read the "Safety Suggestions" section of this operation manual before use.
Please keep this operation manual along with your guarantee card.
Hand over this operation manual together with the refrigerator when the refrigerator is passed to a third party and used in a different location, or when it is sent to a recycling plant.

It may take more than 4 \~ 24 hours to fully cool.
● Make sure that any food does not protrude beyond the storage height limit of each compartment, and allow clearance between each food in each compartment. Pg.44, 50
Otherwise, food and/or package may not be stored in each compartment properly, and as a result, the door may not be closed completely. It may cause the refrigerator not to cool sufficiently and/or not to make ice.
Intelligent Vacuum Preservation facilitates use of the Vacuum Compartment that uses vacuum power to preserve nutrition and freshness.
1. Hitachi proprietary vacuum preservation system
● Uses a vacuum pump to create a vacuum state in a compartment, thereby lowering an oxygen level.
● A difference in atmospheric pressure created by the vacuum pump is used to release antioxidant vitamin to further prevents oxidation of food and color changes.

2. The Intelligent Vacuum Preservation uses a sensor to detect the presence or absence of vegetables and an amount of food stored.
● The Automatic Mode normally keeps a compartment at -1^ and automatically switches to +1^ upon detection of an entry of vegetable.
Detects the presence of CO _2 emitted through respiration of vegetable when the vacuum pump absorbs it, and automatically changes the temperature zone setting accordingly.
● Uses a sensor to detect an amount of food stored and the aluminum tray to accelerate cooling.
- Allows you to select Vacuum Compartment -1°C or Vacuum Compartment +1°C, depending on the food you want to store.
● Can be also used to unfreeze or prepare food for cooking.
更省能源 More Energy Saving
1. 霜循環冷卻
● Utilizes frost efficiently to cool down the inside of the refrigerator without using a compressor, thereby achieving more energy saving than the conventional method.
In the past, the frost adhered to the radiator during operation was melted by a heater and discharged as it lowers the cooling effect.
Frost Recycle Cooling utilizes the cold of frost. The compressor operation is stopped and Refrigerator Compartment /Vegetable Compartment are cooled by utilizing the cold of frost.
● Each compartment being independently cooled effectively
A flap that controls a flow of cooled air is provided in each of Refrigerator, Freezer and Vegetable Compartments to control temperature of each compartment independently.
● Water in frost prevents desiccation (in Refrigerator and Vegetable Compartments).
In addition to the cold of frost, the moisture of frost on the radiator helps the food from drying out.
2. Energy saving mode
To save energy more actively, the energy saving mode increases a temperature setting for each compartment and reduces the number of revolutions for the compressor.
※ In the energy saving mode, the cooling capacity is reduced. You may feel that cooling is not enough, for example, ice-cream becomes softer. Pg.39

Handling the power and power cable

● Avoid usage that may cause the wall outlet or power cord components

If a power source is shared with other appliances, double or multipoint adapters may heat up beyond normal levels and cause fi re.
- Use a wall outlet rated above 15 ampere by itself.

- Do not do anything that may damage the power cord or plug.
The power cord or plug should not be cut, modified, touched with hot implements, bent by force, twisted, pulled, have heavy objects placed on it, squeezed by the refrigerator, or be bound or tied up.


Using a damaged power cord may cause electric shock, short circuits, or fi re.
- Please consult with a retailer about the repair of the power cord or plug.

- Connect the power plug fi rmly to a power outlet with the cord running down.
- Connection of the power plug with the cord running up could apply stress on the cord and cause electrical short or overhe could result in electrical shock
- Incomplete connection of the power plug could result in electrical shock or fire due to heat.

- Do not insert or remove the power plug with wet hands.
- This may result in electric shock.

Handling the power and power cable

● Clean the dust on the power plug frequently.
Insulation failure from moisture when dust collects on the power plug may cause fire.
- Unplug the power plug and wipe it with a dry cloth.


● Be sure to unplug the power plug before maintaining the refrigerator.

BEFORE USE
Preparation before use

Installing your refrigerator
● The floor should be sturdy and flat.
Lay the board which has 1cm thickness on the floor if the refrigerator is installed on the carpet, tatami mat, flooring or PVC sheet flooring which may hollow or discolor.
● A location away from direct sunlight and heat is recommended.
● A location is not damp and has good air flow.
This will reduce adverse effects to refrigerating power and keep electricity cost down. This will also prevent the refrigerator from discoloring and rusting.
● To cool effi ciently, allow enough space around the refrigerator for radiating heat.
● The actual size of the center part of the side of the refrigerator's main body is slightly larger than the nominal size. Therefore, please allow enough space around the when installing the refrigerator.
● The back of the refrigerator can be placed very close to the wall. If any vibration sound occurs and/or any discolor/dirt is found on the wall, move the refrigerator away from the wall.

Adjusting the refrigerator adjustable mount to keep it level
● Left side or right side of the door may be slightly lower when the surface of the installation place is not level or either of the left and right leg is sunk in the floor surface because of the soft floor material and the addition of food weight.
→ This does not affect the refrigerator function. Adjust the refrigerator adjustable mount to keep it level according to the procedure listed below if you want to correct it.
Correcting any left/right lean and lifting slightly the front side of the refrigerator, the door can close easily and completely.
The adjustable mounts, which are located in the front bottom corners of the refrigerator, can be adjusted by turning them to level the refrigerator. (Make sure to use a supplied tool and pads (2 pcs.))
1 To remove leg cover, hold both ends of it a pull it towards to you applying some force.
2 Place pads under the adjustable mounts evenly.
※ Always wipe the adjustable mounts and floor clean before placing pads. Adherents may scratch the floor if remain. Lower both adjustable mounts (left and right) by turning them to secure the refrigerator.


3 With the supplied tool, turn an adjustable mount on the side that the refrigerator is lower to make the Refrigerator Compartment door level.
The left side of the door is lower.

Turn the left Adjustable mount to lower the left side of the door.
The right side of the door is lower.

4 Insert the left and right pins of the leg cover into the mounting holes to attach the leg cover.
It may be approx. 5 days before the refrigerator conforms to the floor allowing the door to be leveled. Readjustment is required if the door is not leveled.
Notice
- When you stop holding a refrigerator door with your hand, the door may move, but this is normal.
Clamp the supplied tool adjusting to the shape of the adjustable mounts.

※ The height of the door can be adjusted 1mm every one turn of the adjustable mount.

On the Power Plug and Grounding
● It is not a problem to plug in the power cord soon after installing the refrigerator.
● Use a wall outlet exclusively when connecting the power cord. (Alternating current 110V, rated 15A or more)

- Contact your dealer to ground the refrigerator or install an earth leakage circuit breaker if the refrigerator is installed in especially damp and humid places.

Never connect the earth wire to the following places:
● Water pipe (Danger of electrical shock)
● Gas pipe (Danger of explosion)
● Telephone line or earth of lightning rod (Danger when lightning strikes)
Preparation for an earthquake has been made properly?

- It is recommended to fix the refrigerator to a sturdy wall or pillar using two "safety belt against overturning for refrigerators".

Cooling down the inside of the refrigerator
- It may take more than 4 hours through 24 hours to cool well the inside of the refrigerator, depending on conditions such as the ambient temperature or the storage state of foods.
● Perform 製冰機清潔” (Ice Maker Cleaning) when using the automatic ice making function first. ① Pg.53
● A series of ice making operation will start automatically after the inside of the refrigerator is cooled well. (When using for the first time, it may take 24 hours and more to make ice.)
Transporting your refrigerator (transport for moving)
● Make sure to empty food and ice from the refrigerator. Always drain water from the water supply container and ice tray.
- Secure the door with tape.
● Lay a protective sheet or cloth to protect the floor from damage and catch remaining water spilled from the refrigerator.
● With a large piece of old cloth underneath, tilt the refrigerator backward to drain water.
- Use assistance to carry the refrigerator. Make sure to hold the handles when carrying it.

Caution
- Do not remove the sticker from the back of the refrigerator. This sticker is necessary to secure the performance and safety.
- Do not remove the plastic parts and label from the bottom part of the side of the refrigerator.

- Approximately two minutes after the end of operation, indicator lamps, excluding “急冷凍(Quick Freezing)” 急冷藏(Quick Cooling)”, 節電 (Energy Saving)”, 急速製冰 (Quick Ice Making)”, 給水 (Water Supply)” and “eco Operation”, become unlit for energy saves.
● To confirm settings, open a refrigerator door or touch any button. The indicator lamps become lit again. - When opening a refrigerator door, the displayed characters become lit. They become unlit about 15 seconds after shutting it.
● Response of the touch panel may change depending on the surrounding temperature, humidity, physical condition of the user or operation status of the adjoining electric product. - Release a finger and touch the panel again if the panel does not respond after touching it. False detection may occur (it may be kept pressed) if the time interval between key touches is too short. Response of the touch panel does not improve even if strongly touching it.
- Be sure to operate the Control Panel with all the doors closed. It remains inactive when you touch the Control Panel with a refrigerator door opened or displayed characters blinking.

● “節電 (Energy Saving)” mode becomes disabled if it is switched to “急冷凍 (Quick Freezing)” or “急冷藏 (Quick Cooling)”. Reset the mode.
- No effective energy saving is attained when temperature is set to “弱 (MIN)” which has no automatic temperature control.
Caution
● Automatic temperature control lowers cooling loads, which may cause ice cream to get soft and frost to form on frozen food. It also requires longer freezing time and ice making time.

Use this handle from beneath to open or close.

Vacuum release valve (in blue)
Raise the handle to unlock it. The vacuum will be released by the vacuum release valve. Hissing sound is generated when releasing the vacuum.
Settings and food stored

Set to "Auto" before placing food in the refrigerator.
The Vacuum Compartment performs an automatic switchover to “+1°C (Chiller)” or “-1°C (Subzero)” upon detection of carbon dioxide. The compartment is automatically set to “-1°C (Subzero)” when vegetables are stored and is set to “+1°C (Chiller)” if not.
● Meat, processed meat ● Fish, seafood, boiled fish paste

Meat, fish and processed meat/fish should be stored at “-1°C (Subzero)” setting. This setting is also suited for thawing. Foods high in water content may freeze.
A vacuum function is disabled. This setting is recommended to store food in "sealed bags" or "sealed containers" which requires caution in storing. Foods high in water content may freeze because this is a regular ice-temperature compartment.
Food and container for which care needs to be taken during storage

The bag may be inflated during storage, which could result in crushing of other stored food.



Vienna sausage, sliced cheese etc.
● Plastic airtight container
The lid of the container may become loose or may not stay in place during storage. Be careful when you take out the container.

● Vegetable sensitive to low temperature
The surface of the vegetable may deteriorate due to low temperature.



Okra, asparagus, ginger, and green pepper
Caution
● Foods high in water content may freeze if ambient temperature is low.
- The CQ_2 sensor may fail to detect carbon dioxide levels properly due to the freshness and amount of food, and temperature setting is automatically switched to “-1C” that could cause food to freeze.

- The compartment is designed to be at +1°C immediately after “Auto” mode is selected until the CO₂ sensor detects the type of food.
- Stabilization of the CO_2 sensor requires about 40 minutes when "Auto" mode is selected. The sensor does not detect carbon dioxide if food is stored during the time.

Be sure to open the left/right door of the Refrigerator Compartment.

- Close and lock the door of the Vacuum Compartment before closing the door of the Refrigerator Compartment. If the door of the Refrigerator Compartment is closed with the door of the Vacuum Compartment opened, the double pocket, the Vacuum Compartment or food may be damaged.
Notice
The vacuum pump is activated when the door of the Refrigerator Compartment is closed, with the door of the Vacuum Compartment closed and the handle locked.
In "Auto" mode, the vacuum pump operates intermittently for CO_2 detection after the door of the Refrigerator Compartment is closed.
Vacuuming will fail if the handle is not locked properly. Abnormal "Auto" function will also be detected.
● Sound and vibrations occur upon start of the vacuum pump, which is a normal event.
The vacuum pump requires about 4 minutes to produce a vacuum after its activation. No hissing sound comes out when the door of the Vacuum Compartment is opened within 4 minutes. Always wait for 4 minutes or longer before checking vacuum state.
● Adopting indirect cooling, the Vacuum Compartment requires longer time than other compartments to cool food.
● No changes in vacuum effect are made when food is covered with plastic wrap. Carbon dioxide will be detected if food is wrapped lightly.
Maintenance and care
- Be sure to remove food contained in the Vacuum Compartment.

Pull the door, lift up the edge of the Vacuum Case (with the door) lightly and then pull it out.

Grasp the tab of the vacuum packing on the observer's upper right and remove it by hand carefully.

Rinse dirty portion in water with a soft wash sponge, wipe off the moisture with a dry cloth, and then let it dry naturally. Remove dirt in the groove of the vacuum packing on the door. Do not use the detergents, etc.

Align the tab to the notch accurately, and then combine them together.

- If detergents and others except lukewarm water are used to clean the vacuum packing, the vacuum packing may be damaged, deformed or change in color, which may cause the vacuum state unable to keep well.
● Loosened vacuum packing or loose-fi tting door of the Vacuum Case may cause the vacuum state unable to keep well.

- If Auto" / -1°C (Subzero)" / +1°C (Chiller)" indicator lamps flash, the vacuum function may not be in the normal conditions. Fig.56

● The vacuum function will not work properly if some package of food is pinched in or dirt/dust is adhered to the vacuum packing or the vacuum release valve (in blue).
● The vacuum function will not work properly if the vacuum packing or the vacuum release valve (in blue) comes off or is loosened.



● Moisture in juicy food stored in the Vacuum Compartment will evaporate and cause dew condensation or frost in the Vacuum Compartment. If water drops and/or frost adheres

● Make sure to wipe off spilled water or food soup soon, if any. Water will

3 “急冷藏 (Quick Cooling)” Operation ends automatically after about 45 minutes.

Using a multiuse egg case

Ten eggs can be stored in this case. The egg pack with eggs in it can be stored as it is.

When the egg stand is turned over, it can be used for small sized food.
Caution
● Hold the carry handle securely when handling it.
- Do not stack food, or otherwise they may drop.
- Do not put tall food in because they may fall down.
- Do not make ice with this container.
Adjusting shelves
■ Shelves are adjustable according to the size of food and drinks.
Remove stored items before adjusting a shelf.
■ 4 level adjustment shelf
The L-shaped shelf can be adjusted to 4 levels by moving it up or down or turning it over.

Opening/closing a door

- Do not close the door when the swing partition folds out. Or, the door does not shut completely.
Caution
● If you try to open right and left doors at the same time, you may have a difficulty in opening them. If that occurs, open either of the doors first, and then open the other.
- Close the door of the Refrigerator Compartment while the Vacuum Case and, the Multiuse Egg Case are in place. If the door is closed while some of them protrude, the door, the case or food may get damaged.
● Too many times of opening/closing of the door, or high humidity around the refrigerator may cause mist on the wall, etc. or frost around the Cold Air Blowout Port.
● Wipe off spilled water or food soup soon, if any.

Using the Upper Freezer

Height of the storageable food
■ Store food of which height are suited for each case.
- Otherwise, the door will not be closed securely, which lead to inefficient cooling action. In addition, it may cause damage of food or each case.
- Keep the food off from the bottom of the slimeline case and/or the slide case.

- Do not store any 500ml PET bottle in the Slimline slide case. It cannot be taken out because it expands when it is frozen.
- Do not use with the Slimline slide case and/or Slide case removed.
● Food may be caught in and/or drop to the inner part of the case, and as a result, the door may not close completely.

- When storing tall food in the Tall Compartment, make sure that it does not contact with the Slimline Slide Case and/or the Slide Case.
● Store only food which can be frozen, and PET bottle which can be used in freezer.

To cancel the quick freezing in the middle, touch the button to turn off the “急冷凍 (Quick Freezing)” indicator lamp.

- Freezing compartment is cooled preferentially in the 急冷凍 (Quick Freezing)" operation. For that reason, temperature of the Refrigerator Compartment may rise if opening/closing the Refrigerator Compartment door frequently.
- Warm food such as rice can be easily frozen by this function. Make sure that you never burn yourself when putting hot food in. It is recommended to put it in after it is cooled down to 50 \~ 60°C.
- Touching the “冷却” button again within 60 minutes after the end of the “急冷凍 (Quick Freezing)” operation, the lamp is illuminated, but the operation does not start. The operation will start after 60 minutes pass.
- Make sure to wrap the food with plastic film to prevent it from sticking on the aluminium tray.
- Divide food into small pieces can not only freeze them completely soon, but also make them be taken out easily.
Troubleshooting
When this happens Please check. This is the cause.
Freezer does not cool well enough, frost and/or dew occur, ice cream becomes soft
● Did you open the door frequently?
→It is recommended to open and close the door quickly and/or minimize the times of opening and closing the door.
- Does any food or package caught in the door prevent the door from closing completely?
→Check that there is not any space between the door seal and its contact surface with the door closed.
● Is food squeezed in? Or is a large amount of food put in at a time?
→ Make sure that no food protrudes beyond the storage height limit of each compartment, and do not store the amount of food that may prevent the door from opening and closing.
→ Allow clearance between each food in each compartment.
● Are Upper Freezer case and Slimline slide case installed correctly?
→ Install them correctly. 📄 Pg.52

There is a space between the door seal and its contact surface.
Caution
- If opening and closing the door frequently, temperature of food may become higher and food such as ice cream may become soft.

How to make Ice

Setting of the Automatic ice maker
Touch the Button to turn on the 製冰 (Ice Making)" indicator lamp.
Ice Making button

Take off the Water Supply Container.
When the “Water Supply” indicator lamp is lit or the water level reaches to the “Add water line”, replenish water.


Open the lid and add water.
Water level can not exceed "Container-full line".

Container-full line

Replace the Water Supply Container.
Push it beyond the "Container set position" line.
※ Water may spill out if the water supply container is inclined. Wipe off spilled water immediately.

Perform 製冰機清潔 (Ice Maker Cleaning)" when making ice for the first time or for the first time in a week or more. Pg.53

Ice making starts automatically and ice is stored in the Ice case.

Remove the water supply container and wash it thoroughly. Dry the container completely.

Place the water supply container.
The container should be pushed in until it passes the "container set position" line.

- Do not place your hand in the mechanical section of the automatic ice maker. (Rotation of the ice tray may cause injury.)

"Water Supply" indicator lamp
“給水 (Water Supply)” indicator lamp automatically comes on when water in the water supply container is getting low. Replenish the container with water.

Caution
● “給水 (Water Supply)” may come on regardless of water levels if the water supply container is not placed properly. Push in the container completely if the indicator lamp comes on.
Notice
- “給水 (Water Supply)” indicator lamp turns off when the door of the Refrigerator Compartment is opened and closed while the indicator lamp is on, and it turns on again if no water is added to replenish the container. - “給水 (Water Supply)” indicator lamp remains off when “停止 (Stop)” is selected for automatic ice making.
Notice
● The indicator lamp will turn off about 2 minutes after ice making finishes to save electricity, while “急冷凍 (Quick Freezing),”“急冷藏 (Quick Cooling)”,“節電 (Energy Saving)”,“急速製水 (Quick Ice Making)”,“給水 (Water Supply)” and ["eco" operation indicator lamp] remain on. Pg.38
● Ice making mode switches in order of “製氷 (Ice Making)” → “急速製氷 (Quick Ice Making)” → “停止 (Stop)” every time the button is touched. The current mode is indicated by the display and operating sound.

It takes a long time to make ice under the following conditions.
- When using for the first time (It may take more than 24 hours) • After opening/closing the door frequently
• After storing a large amount of food at a time • After power failure - When the ambient temperature is low under certain conditions (ex: using in winter)
• After maintaining the Ice Tray
Notice
- Amount of stored ice is automatically detected by the stored ice amount detecting lever of the Automatic ice maker which cannot be seen usually. Automatic ice maker stops making ice when the amount of the stored ice reaches to the specified level and it restarts making ice when the amount is below the level.
- Limit line of stored ice amount represents the guide line of stored ice amount when the Automatic ice maker makes ice with ice leveled.
If the ice is stored partially, the detecting lever may contact the ice early. As a result, the Automatic ice maker may stop making ice before the amount of stored ice is enough.
Request
- Do not store any food such as frozen food other than ice in the ice case when making ice automatically.
(Otherwise, it may not make ice, or the door may not open or parts may damage because the food interferes with the parts of the Automatic ice maker.)
Gently open and close the door of the Ice Compartment. Ice may fall out of the ice case onto the lower freezer if disregarded.
We suggest you use boiled tap-water to make the ice after cooling.*
*: please check & verify the water quality condition with local authority.
● Change water and clean the container at least once a week for hygiene purposes.
- If the ice made of mineral water containing a lot of mineral ingredients is put into water, white powder may come out, however this is those mineral ingredients and harmless.
● Required to satisfy the appropriate water quality standard.
● Furthermore, these types of water are easily contaminated with bacteria.
Please wash the container usually once 3 days.

AUTO DOOR COMPARTMENT (In lower freezer and vegetable compartment)


Warning
- Stop the auto door function if there is a chance that small children play with the auto door compartment.
- Do not hold the top, bottom or side face of the door to close it. This can cause pinching of fingers, which could result in injury.
- Do not bring your foot too near the refrigerator when you press the auto door switch of the vegetable compartment. You may knock your foot against the door and may cause injury.
● Operate the auto door switch with your hand.
● Make sure to disconnect the power plug from the power outlet before starting maintenance of the auto door compartment.
How to enable/disable the Auto Door function
■ Touch and hold the button for three seconds or more to enable or disable the Auto Door function. Each time you touch the button, the corresponding indicator lamp changes in the order shown below:

Opening and closing the Auto Door compartment
The compartment opens and LED lamp is illuminated by pressing the auto door switch with your hand.

● "Lower freezer" and "vegetable compartment" cannot be electrically opened at the same time. Whichever the auto door compartments switch is pressed first only opens.
- When one of the "lower freezer" and "vegetable compartment" is open, the auto door function does not work.
Press the auto door switch after closing the open compartment.
● A sound is heard when you press the auto door switch. This is not abnormal.
- Opening/closing of the auto door compartment may not be smooth in case of power failure.
Auto Closer Half-opened Door Prevention
The Lower Freezer and Vegetable Compartment are equipped with a dedicated auto closer (to prevent a half-opened door).
● The door closes automatically when the refrigerator detects that the door is not shut properly.
- If the door cannot be closed, an alarm consisting of short beeps sounds to inform the user of half-opened door.
(The alarm may not sound if the gap is very small.)
- Please check if any food is stuck between the door and refrigerator.
- Please check if any food fell out of the case.
If yes, remove the food referring to "Maintenance of electrical drawer unit" on this page.

Warning
● Make sure that your finger may not be caught in the door when closing the door with the Auto Closer.
Notice
- When the auto door function is stopped, the half-opened door prevention function is also stopped.
- If the door is left open for more than 30 seconds, the door alarm will inform you that the door is open. Pg.58
Maintenance and Care
■ Clean the auto door unit when food fall onto or is caught in the upper part of the auto door unit and when liquid is deposited on the auto door unit.

- Is any food or food bag caught on the compartment?
- Remove the Auto Door unit with reference to "Maintenance and Care" in this page.
- Did a power failure occur or did the compartment knock against any obstacle during electrical operation?
- The door does not open/close smoothly because the electrical drawer function is stopped before the operation completes.
- Manually push in the door hard with strength. Otherwise, unplug the power plug with the door drawn, and connect it after 10 seconds.
● The door may not fully open depending on the amount of the stored food and storage arrangement.
The auto door does not open much.
VEGETABLE COMPARTMENT

Using the Lower and Spacious Upper Cases

Caution
It is recommended to wrap vegetable with plastic film when the following conditions exist.
- When it is undesirable that the stored food absorb the smell of the vegetables such as scallion, leeks, and shallots
- When storing the vegetables and/or fruits which were used partially
- When the amount of the stored vegetables is small or many wrapped vegetables are stored
- When it is undesirable that dew occurs in the Vegetable Compartment

Caution
● Some kind of PET bottle may not be able to be stored.
Moreover, PET bottle may not be able to be stored if its cap is not completely tightened.
- When outer temperature is low, temperature within the case may also become low.
- Dew may adhere to the spacious upper case or the ceiling in the Vegetable Compartment, depending on the volume/type of vegetables, because the humidity is high in the Vegetable Compartment. Water is no good to perishable food. Wipe off water with a dry cloth.
- Open/close the Vegetable Compartment Door slowly. Opening/closing the door mightily, the food stored in the tall storage compartment (PET bottle etc.) may overturn.


MAINTENANCE/CARE OF THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

Warning
Make sure to unplug the power plug when maintaining the refrigerator.
When dirt is found
● Wipe off it immediately.
It is recommended to clean the hidden places once a year.
- Wipe off it using a soft cloth wet by lukewarm water. If it is hard to clean dirt, wipe off it using diluted neutral detergent for kitchen and a soft cloth wet by lukewarm water.
Some detergents cannot be used for this purpose. Therefore, refer to the Caution on this page.
● Take foods out beforehand if you remove the parts.
- Do not wipe out the movable contact surface of the rail for cases and drawers because the lubricant agent is applied to it. (The lubricant agent complies with the Food Sanitation Law.)
Caution
Power plug
- If the dust on the power plug remains not cleaned, it may cause a fire. Clean it once a year.
1 Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
Check the following matters.
- Is any damage found on the power cord?
- Does the power plug become hot?

3 Remove the dust and wipe it with a dry cloth.
4 Connect the power plug firmly to a power outlet.
Control Panel
● Wipe the Control Panel with a soft cloth.
● Make sure that water never splash to it.
Otherwise, it may cause malfunction.

Surface of door
● Wipe the surface of door using a soft cloth wet by lukewarm water.

Door gaskets
● Wipe it thoroughly because it can become easily dirty.

● Wipe off them if liquid collects and/or they becomes dirty.

Pull the leg cover and remove it.
Push it in from the front when installing it.

Float the Adjustable mounts from the floor and draw the refrigerator straight.
Lay the protection board etc. on the floor which can be easily scratched.


Wipe off dirt on the back of the refrigerator, wall and floor.
The back of the refrigerator easily becomes dirty because fi ne dust is accumulated on it by convection of air.

Caution It may cause damage and discoloration of the door, paintwork and plastic parts.
- Do not use the following ones.
- Alkaline and alkalescence detergent for kitchen, plate powder, powder soap, oil, hot water, scrubbing brush, acid, benzine, thinner, alcohol, and bleach, etc. (check the "liquid" part of "display according to the household goods quality labeling law" for detergent.)
● Make sure to wipe off spilled cooking oil, citrus fruits juice and food soup. - When using a chemical dustcloth, follow the instructions of it.
HOW TO REMOVE PARTS
Notice
● Make sure no stored items remain before removing a part.
- Do not remove parts which are not described below.
4 level adjustment shelf
● Slightly lift the shelf up and slide it forward.
Push in the shelf as far as it will go to place.
Caution
Make sure the shelf has been placed in a horizontal position.
Check the shelf to see that it does not come off when sliding it forward.

Fixed shelf
● Draw the shelf, and pull off the two pins on the lower right and remove it.

Vacuum Case with the door
● Pull the door, lift the case at the edge of it lightly, and then pull it out. For more information. 📄 Pg.41

● Slightly lift up and pull out.

Door pocket
- Lift up the door pocket while tapping the left/right of its bottom surface, and remove it.
Insert the door pocket fully to the end when installing it.

Height adjustable upper and lower shelf
1 Slightly lift up the back of the shelf and draw it.
2 Raise the shelf as shown in fi gure, and turn it and remove it.




When installing the shelf, slide it until it reaches to the interior wall, then slightly lift up the back of the shelf and push it in. (hitch the forks of the shelf to the parts on the back of the shelf)
Caution Door may damage if drawing the shelf without turning it.
Ice Compartment/ Upper Freezer
● Draw the door fully and lift up the case towards you.
Put the case bottom on the frame and set the case.

1 Draw the door fully, and draw the Slimline slide case and the Slide case respectively.

When installing it, insert the pins on the left/right of the Lower freezer case into the square holes on the frame to install it. Moreover, hitch the pins on the left/right of the Slide case to the outside of the Lower freezer case.
2 Lift up the Lower freezer case.

● Draw the door fully and pull up the Spacious vegetable case as shown in the figure.
● Lift up the front part of the door, and draw it further and incline it.
- Lift up the Vegetable Case.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE AUTOMATIC ICE MAKER
Washing the supply channel (Ice Maker Cleaning)
- When using for the first time - When not used for more than one week
Ice tray and water supply line can be washed.
Be sure to check the followings before starting the operation.

Water supply container
• Water is filled in it.
• The container is set properly as specified.

• If there remains ice, remove it.
To prevent malfunction, lay the towel so that its thickness does not reach this line.
Go to the next step after checking them.

Lay a soft clean towel on the bottom of the ice case.
The purpose is to absorb water discharged during ice maker cleaning and prevent water spill.


Touch the 160 ton and hold it for more than 5 seconds after closing all the doors and turning on the display.
When the three indicator lamps 急速製冰 (Quick Ice Making)”,製冰 (Ice Making)” and “停(Stop)” start to blink and alarm starts to sound, stop holding the button. 製冰機清潔 (Ice Maker Cleaning)” starts.

• The indicator lamp will flash and the buzzer will sound for about 3 minutes.
• 製冰機清潔 (Ice Maker Cleaning)" can't be interrupted.
- If you open any of the refrigerator doors during Ice Maker Cleaning, the cleaning may not work properly. Do not open or close the door until cleaning is completed.
- Door alarm sounds even if alarm is disabled. 📄 Pg.58

About three minutes later, when alarm and blinking end, remove water in the ice case using the towel.
Before removing the case, wipe off the water in the case.

There is no problem with using water remaining in the water supply container, if any.
Cleaning the water supply container

Water which doesn't contain chlorine may easily cause slime and/or fur compared with tap water. Wash the Water Supply Container regularly to prevent bacteria from breeding when such water is used.
- Remove the seal from the lid and wash it with a soft wash sponge.

Turn the case and remove it from the lid.


Pull the tab of the water fi Iter with fi ngers and remove it from the case.
Do not use the detergents etc.

Wash it with a soft wash sponge etc.
Notice
- If you set ice making to "Stop" and do not intend to use the auto ice maker for some time, wash and dry the water supply container and then mount it in place.
● In particular, dry the water filter thoroughly.

Cleaning the ice tray
- Maintain it once a year

Touch the button to stop supplying water to the ice tray and turn on the 停止 (Stop)" indicator lamp. (Stop ice making)
※ If the indicator lamp fl ashes, perform the following operation after the "停止 (Stop)lamp is turned on in 1 minute.


Open the Ice Compartment Door.
① Push the level laterally. ② draw the frame.
③ Raise the cover (▲ part) in the direction of the arrow.
④ Remove the ice tray from the frame.

Notice

Empty the ice tray and wash it lightly in the stream.

Do not use any cleaning tool that can scratch it easily such as scrubbing brush and plate powder.

Set the ice tray and ② close the cover. Make the frame horizontal and push into the end (The level is automatically restored to its original position.)


Touch the button to light the indicator lamp. (Automatic Ice Making starts) Light ON
“製冰 (Ice Making)”

- When the frame for the ice tray cannot be pushed into the back, the motor that drives the ice-tray may have operated. Remove the ice tray and then push the frame alone into the back, and then touch the with all the doors opened to turn on “停止 (Stop)”. After a while, the ice-tray driving motor gets ready, allowing you to mount the ice-tray.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the following points before asking repair. Contact your dealer or our customer center if the problem still exists after checking them.
FAQ when using for the first time
Refrigerator does not cool well enough or make ice when using for the first time
● It takes time to cool in summer or when a lot of foods are stored.

- Is the ["eco" Operation indicator lamp] set as Off? Perform the above-mentioned procedure for how to return.
- Immediately after installation, when a lot of food is stored at a time, or when you open or close a door frequently, the compressor operates at a high speed and this indicator lamp is not lit. Open/close the door quickly or minimize the number of opening/closing the door.
- When the refrigerator is operated with “急冷凍(Quick Freezing)”, “急冷藏(Quick Cooling)” or “急速製冰(Quick Ice Making)” enabled, → It will be illuminated after the quick cooling functions finish and the operation of the refrigerator gets stable.
