USER MANUAL AR1PA1/V ARDES
- This appliance may be used by children of more than 8 years of age, persons with physical, sensory or mental capabilities or inexpert persons only if they have been previously trained in using it in a safe manner, and only if they have been informed of the dangers the product can cause. Children may not play with the appliance. Children may not clean or carry out any maintenance on the appliance without adult supervision.
- Use this product only for its intended purpose, as described in this instruction manual such as a scale for domestic use only. Any other use should be considered improper and dangerous. Packaging components (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as they have the potential to be dangerous and their disposal should be carried out according to the current regulations. During the weighing procedure, food must come in contact only with special container, suitable for this purpose.
- These scales should not be used to weigh objects or substances in commercial transactions, to produce medicines, to calculate tolls, tariffs, taxes, premiums, fines, remunerations, indemnities or fees of a similar kind determined by weight.
- It must be used according to the instructions, contained in this manual and it is important that the user reads and understands the use and maintenance information of the device.
- Keep away from dust and humidity; do not expose to sun or to excessive temperatures.

Zero / Mode:
- Press the button to reset the scale.
- Keep the button pressed for 3 seconds to change the mode (between weighing, water and milk), or keep it pressed continuously to change the mode faster.

Unit:
Changing units of measurement (ml, fl'oz for liquids and g, lb:oz for solids). Unit button is located on the back of the scale
INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES
A 3V CR2032 lithium battery (included) is required. Remove the insulation film before use.
Open the battery compartment:
- Remove the old battery with the help of a sharp object as shown in the figure.
- Insert the new battery by placing one side of the battery under the battery deflector and pushing the other side. (Pay attention to polarity)

USE INSTRUCTIONS
CHANGING MODES AND UNITS OF MEASUREMENT
The scale offers measurement in metric (g, ml) and imperial (lb:oz, fl'oz) units.
- Changing modes: Press the Zero/Mode button to change the mode (weighing, water volume or milk volume).
- Changing units of measurement: Once the mode is selected, press the Unit button to select the unit of measure you prefer. Unit button is located on the back of the scale.
* When in weight mode the unit of measure is expressed in g, the unit of measure of the volume will be automatically expressed in ml.
* When in weight mode the unit of measure is expressed in lb:oz, the unit of measure of the volume will be automatically expressed in fl'oz.
WEIGHING

- Solids weighing mode
- Place the product on a flat and stable surface. If you are using a container and want to reduce it from its total weight, put it first on the scale, even before you turn it on.
- Press the Zero/Mode button to turn on the product or press on the center of the scale.
- Wait until "0" appears on the display.
- Set the desired mode and unit of measurement according to the above instructions.
- Place what you want to weigh on the scale (or inside the container already placed) and start weighing. The display will show the weight.
• Volume mode (liquids)
- Place the product on a flat and stable surface. If you are using a container and want to reduce it from its total weight, put it first on the scale, even before you turn it on.
- Press the Zero/Mode button to turn on the product or press on the center of the scale.
- Wait until "0" appears on the display.
- Set the desired mode and unit of measurement according to the above instructions. It is recommended to use the specific water or milk modes if what you are weighing is one of these liquids.
- Place what you want to weigh on the scale (or inside the container already placed) and start weighing. The display will show the volume.
"TARE" FUNCTION (WHEN THE TOTAL SUM OF ALL LOADS IS >200G)
Two different loads can be weighed consecutively without removing them from the scale. Put the first load on the scale, you will get the first weight. Press the Zero/Mode button to reset the display reading to 0 before adding the next load.
The display will show "-" or "0g" each time the Zero/Mode button is pressed. "-" means that the product is processing, please wait a moment. When "0g" and "T" appear simultaneously in the lower part of the display, it means that the tare function is active and the second load can be positioned. In this condition, the total capacity is reduced by the weight of all loads. By pressing the Zero/Mode button, you can see the total weight of the two loads together. If you want to add more loads, press the Zero/Mode button to reset the display to 0.
AUTOMATIC POWER OFF
The product will automatically switch off if it is not in operation or if the display shows the same weight for one minute.

Overloaded scale. Remove the load to avoid damage. The maximum weight supported is indicated on the scale.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Clean the product with a soft, slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Remove the graduated pitcher to clean the product. Make sure the container is empty before starting cleaning; do not immerse the scale body in water. The scale is not waterproof.
- All plastic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with grease, spices, vinegar and very tasty/coloured foods. Avoid contact with citrus juices.
• Always use the scale on a hard, flat surface. DO NOT use it on a carpet.
• DO NOT damage, hit, or drop the scale.
• The scale is a precision instrument. Please handle it with care.
• Store the scale in a cool, dry place - If the scale cannot be turned on, check the condition of the batteries, whether they have been installed, or whether they are discharged.
• For domestic use only. DO NOT use the product for commercial purposes.

WARNINGS ABOUT BATTERIES
- KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Swallowing can lead to chemical burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. Seek medical attention immediately.
- Do not allow children to replace batteries.
- Always insert batteries correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and the equipment.
- Do not short-circuit batteries.
- Do not charge batteries.
- Do not force discharge batteries.
- Do not mix new and used batteries or batteries of different types or brands.
- Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from equipment and properly disposed of.
- Do not heat batteries
- Do not weld or solder directly to batteries.
- Do not dismantle batteries.
- Do not deform batteries.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- A lithium battery with a damaged container should not be exposed to water.
- Do not encapsulate and/or modify batteries.
- Store unused batteries in their original packaging away from metal objects. If already unpacked, do not mix or jumble batteries.
- Remove batteries from equipment if it is not to be used for an extended period of time unless it is for emergency purposes.
- Clean the battery contacts and also those of the equipment prior to battery installation.
- In case of leak from batteries, avoid any contact with it; in case of contact, wash the affected part with water and seek medical attention.

DISPOSAL

BATTERIES - Remove the batteries from the appliance before its disposal. Do not dispose the batteries with domestic waste. The batteries must be disposed of in the appropriate containers or in the specific collecting centre. Suitable segregated collection helps prevent damage to the environment and to human health. To remove batteries, refer to USER INSTRUCTIONS.

USER INFORMATION
"Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)", pertaining to reduced use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as to waste disposal".
The symbol of the crossed-out wheelie bin on the equipment or on its packaging indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from other waste at the end of its service life.
The user must therefore take the dismissed equipment to suitable separate collection centres for electrical and electronic waste, or return it to the dealer in case they purchase a new device of equivalent type, at a one-to-one-ratio.
Suitable segregated collection of the equipment for subsequent recycling, treatment or environmentally-friendly disposal helps prevent damage to the environment and to human health, and encourages the re-use and/or recycling of the materials that make up the equipment.
Abusive disposal of the product by the user shall result in the application of administrative fines in accordance with the laws in force.

Terms and Conditions
The guarantee is valid for 24 months.
This guarantee applies only if it has been duly filled in and is submitted with the receipt showing the date of purchase.
The guarantee covers the replacement or repair of parts making up the appliance which were faulty at source due to manufacturing faults.
After the guarantee has expired, the appliance will be repaired against payment.
The manufacturer declines any responsibility for damage to persons, animals or property due to misuse of the appliance and failure to observe the directions contained in the instructions.
Limits
All rights under this guarantee and any responsibility on our part will be voided if the appliance has been:
- mishandled by unauthorized persons
-improperly used, stored or transported
The guarantee does not cover damage to the outward appearance or any other that does not prevent regular operation.
