USER MANUAL DO 2237 CLATRONIC

We grant 24 month guarantee on the product commencing in the date of purchase

Within the guarantee period we will eliminate, free of charge, any defects in the appliance resulting from faults in material or workmanship either by repairing, or exchanging parts or exchanging the whole appliance as we may choose. Not covered by this guarantee: damage arising from improper use (operation with incorrect current/voltage, plugging it into unsuitable power point, breakage), normal wear and defects, which have a negligible effect on the value or operation of the appliance.

The guarantee becomes void, if repairs are undertaken by unauthorized persons and of original CTC-Clatronic parts are not used.

The guarantee only comes into force, if the date of purchase is confirmed by the dealers stamp and signature on the guarantee card.

This guarantee extends to every country, where this appliance is supplied by CTC-Clatronic or its appointed distributor and where no import restrictions or other legal regulations hinder or prevent service being given under guarantee.

Service under the guarantee does not effect the expiry date of the guarantee. The guarantee on parts or entire appliances, which are exchanged ends, when the guarantee on this appliance expires. In the event of a claim under this guarantee, hand in the complete appliance with the valid guarantee card to you dealer, or send both to the nearest CTC-Clatronic customer service-center.

All other claims, including for damages are excluded unless the law mandatorily provides otherwise. Clamis arising out of the sales contract with the vendor are not affected by this guarantee.

Before using your can opener, please read the following instructions for use carefully.

Familiarisation

Connection to mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage is the same as the voltage marked on the appliance (see rating label ①).

Safety

- Keep children away and do not allow them to operate this appliance.

- Ensure that neither the housing ② nor the mains lead ③ get in touch with hot surfaces such as the hot plates of an electric stove, or a hot gas flame.

• Unplug the can opener from the mains supply socket:

- when it is not in use,

- in the event that it malfunctions during use,

- before cleaning.

- Do not unplug by pulling on the mains lead③. Remove by grasping the plug. Take care that the mains lead does not trail over the edge of the table of worktop.

- Repairs of electrical appliances should only be performed by skilled personnel as safety precautions have to be observed.

- Improper repairs can result in considerable hazards for the user.

• In case the can opener is misused or operated in any manner other than described in these

instructions for use, no liability will be undertaken for possible damage.

• The can opener has been designed for domestic use only and is not intended for professional use.

Before first use

- Clean the can opener (see section "Cleaning and opener there may be a light crackling sound. This is quite normal and does not at all affect the function of the appliance.

- Cans of about 1000 grammes or more should be held in hand while opening.

- When you attempt to open a can with a damaged lip, it might be necessary to apply the can opener several times.

- Soldered cans or cans which normally must be opened with a special key, may be opened at their bottom side provided they have a lip or bulge.

How to open a can

- The can opener has been designed for short time operation only (KB 1 min), e.g. it should Care").

- When switching on the can

never be operated continuously for longer than 1 minute. Then switch off and allow the appliance to cool down thoroughly before reusing it.

- Take the can opener in your right hand and raise the operating lever④with your thumb.

- Hold the can to be opened in your left hand and position the lip of the can such that it is situated on the carrier wheel ⑦.

- Depress the operating lever ④ such that the cutting blade ⑥ touches the lid of the can. The magnetic

lid holder⑤may now be brought in position.

  • Switch the can opener on by further depressing the operating lever④. The cutting blade ?6will automatically pierce into the lid and cut it open.
  • When the cutting cycle is complete, the can opener will switch off automatically.
  • The cutting cycle can be interrupted at any time by simply raising the operating lever④.
  • When the cutting process is complete hold the can with your left hand and raise the operating lever ④ with the thumb of your right hand.
  • The cut off lid is held by the magnetic lid holder⑤.
    • To avoid cuts or other injuries be carful when removing the lid from the lid holdet.

Cleaning and Care

  • Before cleaning your can opener, always make sure that the plug has been removed from the mains supply socket.
  • Wipe the outside housing ② of the can opener with a damp cloth.
    • Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
  • The operating lever ④ with the magnetic lid holder ⑤ and the cutting blade ⑥ can be detached for cleaning. Simply raise the operating lever ④ up to 90 degrees and pull out sidewards. Reassemble it just in reverse order.
  • For safety reasons, the can opener should not be treated with water or liquids and should never be immersed.
