Your new Quantum reel has been designed, engineered and built to be the best in the world. Our state-of-the-art testing facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma has tested and verified every aspect of this reel in conditions above and beyond what you may encounter during your next fishing trip.

ABOUT YOUR NEW QUANTUM REEL: Setting the Drag

The wide-range drag on your Quantum reel allows line to be pulled smoothly from the reel under tension without breaking. The drag, controlled by the star mechanism on the handle, may be accurately adjusted for a wide range of fishing conditions. Gradually rotate the drag control clockwise to increase the tension, counterclockwise to decrease the tension (use the reverse of this for left-hand reels). A good rule of thumb is to set the drag to approximately 1/3 of the pound test of the line you are using.

Spool Tension Knob

When using a baitcast reel, the spool tension knob must be adjusted properly to allow peak casting performance. To properly set the spool tension, perform the following procedure: a) With line, lure and rod assembled, hold the rod at a 45^ angle. b) Press the thumb bar while holding the spool with your thumb. c) Finely adjust the spool tension knob until the lure slowly descends to the ground as thumb pressure frees the spool. The spool should stop at the instant the lure touches the ground.

Quick-Access Spool

Your Quantum baitcast reel has a unique bayonet-mounted side plate for quick, convenient access to the spool to make cleaning and lubrication easier. Just slide the button on the bottom of the side cover, and rotate the cover downward about 1/4 turn. You can then pull the side cover from the frame and remove the spool. Changing spools in a baitcast reel was never easier. Plus, the sleek, ergonomic side covers and body have no external fasteners to catch line or clothing.

Proper Maintenance

Quantum reels are designed to exacting standards to provide you with years of precision performance when you properly maintain and lubricate. Be sure to exercise care when applying oil and grease. Overflow onto certain parts may negatively effect performance of the reel. Apply all lubricants sparingly, and wipe off any excess before using. We recommend you have your Quantum reel professionally cleaned at least once a year at an Authorized Quantum Service Center in your area, and that you always use Quantum Hot Sauce™ lubricants.

Ordering Parts For Your Quantum Reel

Refer to the parts list and diagram for your model. If you did not get one of these with this reel, you may find the diagram on our website, quantumfishing.com. Locate the part you need and identify the key number for the part you wish to order. Always state the model number, part number, part description and quantity on your orders. Parts may be ordered direct from the Factory

Service Department, Authorized Warranty/Service Centers, and online at www.quantumfishing.com.

Reel Service and Warranty Procedures

As we continue to lead in product development, new reels are continuously being offered, and may create a shortage of parts for certain older models. Therefore, we strongly suggest you first contact the nearest Quantum Authorized Service Center to inquire about your particular reel. In most cases, these shops will be able to repair your reel. Within the warranty period, reels sent to the Quantum factory will be repaired or replaced within 48 hours of receipt for freshwater models and 24 hours for saltwater models, or we'll send you a free hat! Quantum Limited Warranty

Quantum products are warranted for a period of one (1) year from date of original retail purchase against defects in workmanship and/or materials. Purchaser should return defective products postage prepaid, insured with proof of purchase direct to Quantum at 6105 E. Apache, Tulsa, OK 74115. Quantum will repair or replace products at its option and return direct to purchaser.

This warranty does not cover Quantum products damaged due to abuse, misuse, normal wear, or excessive wear caused by neglect of cleaning and lubrication required or general service requirements due to owner's failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance.

Quantum products not covered by the Quantum Limited Warranty may be repaired at a nominal charge to the purchaser, provided parts are available and the product is returned with return postage prepaid.

"ALL INCIDENTAL AND/OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY INSERT. IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE LIFE OF THIS WARRANTY. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS THAT MAY VARY FROM STATE TO STATE."

The warranties described herein shall be the sole and exclusive warranties granted by Quantum and shall be the sole and exclusive remedy available to the purchaser. Correction of defects, in the manner and time period described herein, shall constitute complete fulfillment of all liabilities and responsibilities of Quantum to the purchaser with regard to this product, and shall constitute full satisfaction of all claims, whether based on contract, negligence, strict liability or otherwise. Quantum shall not be liable or in any way responsible for any damages or defects caused by repairs or attempted repairs performed by anyone other than an authorized servicer. Nor shall Quantum be liable, or in any way responsible, for any incidental or consequential property damage. Quantum reserves the right to amend or change this warranty at any time.

The provisions of this Warranty are in addition to, and not a modification of, or a subtraction from, the statutory warranties and other rights and remedies contained in any applicable legislation. To the extent that any provision of this Warranty is inconsistent with any applicable law, such provision shall be deemed voided or amended as necessary, to comply with such law.
