Frequently Asked Questions - ExtremeSteam GS65 Conair

How do I fill the water tank?
Unplug the unit, remove the water reservoir cap on top, fill the provided cup with tap water (filtered is recommended) to the max fill line, pour into the reservoir, and replace the cap securely before plugging in.
How long does it take to heat up?
Plug in the unit; the power light turns red. After 1-2 minutes, the ready light turns green, indicating it's ready to use. On first use, it may take an additional 1-2 minutes for steam to appear.
What attachments are included and how are they used?
Three attachments: a lint brush to remove lint and loosen fibers, a delicate fabric pad to soften steam for delicate fabrics, and a crease attachment to create sharp creases on pants or shirts.
Can I use the steamer on any fabric?
Yes, but test on an inconspicuous area first. For delicate fabrics, use the delicate fabric pad. Always pass the steam jets slightly above wrinkles and avoid holding the steamer too close to the fabric.
How do I clean and maintain the steamer?
After each use, unplug and empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent leakage. To reduce mineral buildup, use filtered water. Do not immerse in water; clean exterior with a damp cloth. Descaling may be needed in hard water areas.
What safety precautions should I follow?
Always unplug when not in use or filling. Never leave unattended when plugged in. Keep steam away from people and pets. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use caution when removing attachments as they may contain hot water. Do not use extension cords.
Why is no steam coming out?
Check if the unit is plugged in and the ready light is green. On first use, it may take up to 2 minutes extra. Also ensure the water tank is filled and the cap is tight. If the problem persists, contact Conair service.
What is the warranty coverage?
Conair offers a limited one-year warranty from the date of purchase covering defects in workmanship or materials. Return the product with purchase receipt and $5 for postage to the nearest service center.
Can I use tap water in the steamer?
Yes, tap water is acceptable, but filtered water is recommended to reduce hard water mineral deposits that can affect performance. Do not use distilled water as it may cause spitting.
How should I store the steamer?
Allow the unit to cool completely. Empty the water tank. Loop the cord loosely around the appliance and store in a dry place. Do not place the steam nozzle directly on surfaces while hot.

  3. Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the appliance. Take it to a qualified service person for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when the appliance is used.

  4. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let appliance cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around appliance when storing.
