What batteries does the DB333 use?

The receiver requires 3x AA batteries (not included). The transmitter uses one 12V A23 battery (usually included). You can also power the receiver via an 8-12V AC transformer (sold separately).

How do I change the melody?

Press the melody select button on the receiver repeatedly to cycle through the 8 available tunes. The selected melody will play when you press the transmitter. Some models use a button on the front, others on the side.

Can I add extra transmitters?

Yes, you can add additional Byron transmitters (same frequency) to the same receiver. Set all transmitters to the same DIP code or pair them via the learn function. Each transmitter will trigger the chime.

How do I adjust the volume?

Locate the volume switch on the receiver. Typical settings are high, low, and off (for silent visual alert via LED). Slide the switch to your preferred level.

What is the range of the DB333?

In open air, the range is up to 100 meters. Walls and obstacles reduce the range significantly. For best performance, place the receiver centrally and avoid metal obstructions.

The chime does not work. What should I check?

First, check batteries in both units. Ensure the transmitter battery is fresh. Verify the code setting matches on both devices. Test the transmitter by pressing its button; if the receiver LED flashes but no sound, check volume setting. If no LED, reset pairing by repeating the learn procedure.

Is the transmitter weatherproof?

Yes, the transmitter has a rating of IP44, meaning it is splash-proof and suitable for outdoor use under an eave. Avoid submersion and direct heavy rain.

Can I use a transformer instead of batteries?

Yes, the receiver can be powered by an 8-12V AC transformer (e.g., Byron 8V transformer). Connect the transformer wires to the designated terminals on the receiver (refer to manual). This allows continuous operation without battery replacement.

How do I clean the chime?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. For the outdoor transmitter, gently wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately.

Using a small flat screwdriver, insert into the locking clip and gently twist. The back plate will unclip from the Bell Push.

Insert the 23A battery (Supplied) into the battery holder, making sure the Positive/Negative terminals match the internal markings.

Insert the Plug-through Chime into a standard 220-240V \~50Hz wall socket and switch the socket ON.

Installation Guide:

Avoid positioning the Bell Push/Chime on or directly near metallic surfaces as this may reduce the operation range. UPVC Door Frames: When positioning the bell push onto a UPVC door, always check the operating performance before final installation, internal metal frame of the door may affect performance.

Tip: Try adjusting the location of the Bell Push slightly to the Left/Right or place on external wall.

Bell Push & Door Chime:

1: Using back plate as template.
2: Making sure UP arrow points UP.
2: Mark and drill holes.
3: Insert wall plugs and attach to wall using screws provided.
4: Clip the Bell Push on to the back plate making sure Bell Push 'Clicks' in to place.
5: Plug the Door Chime into a socket, within the operating range (75M). Transmission of the wire free signal through Walls, Doors and Ceilings etc, may reduce the operating range. Chime is designed for INDOOR use only.

Melody Selection:

To select a new melody for the Door Chime
1: Press the Melody Select button on the front of the chime.
2: The chime will play the newly selected sound.
3: Press again to select the next melody.
