Frequently Asked Questions - 0C52722 LENOVO

How do I install the Lenovo Preferred Pro USB Fingerprint Keyboard?
Adjust the tilt feet to your preference, then connect the keyboard cable to an available USB port on your computer. The operating system will automatically detect and configure the keyboard. If needed, route the cable into the cable slot to reduce clutter.
How do I enroll my fingerprints for Windows login?
On Windows 7/8/8.1: open Fingerprint Manager Pro Software, enter your Windows password, select the external fingerprint reader, then swipe your finger repeatedly until enrollment reaches 100%. On Windows 10: go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Windows Hello and follow the on-screen instructions.
Why isn't my fingerprint reader working?
Ensure the fingerprint reader is clean and dry. If the surface is dirty or wet, gently clean it with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Also verify that the fingerprint driver (Lenovo Fingerprint Manager Pro or Validity driver) is correctly installed. If problems persist, try a different USB port.
What does the blue button do?
The blue button opens Lenovo SimpleTap or ThinkVantage Toolbox on Windows 7, or Lenovo PC Experience on Windows 8/8.1/10. If none of these programs are installed, it opens the Windows System Information window.
How can I adjust the keyboard repeat delay or rate?
Go to Control Panel > Keyboard > Speed tab. Move the Repeat delay slider to 'Long' and the Repeat rate slider to 'Slow'. This prevents the keyboard from repeating characters unintentionally. The procedure is similar for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.
Can I use the fingerprint reader to log into BIOS or boot?
Yes, if your computer's BIOS supports fingerprint recognition. First set a power-on password and/or hard disk drive password in BIOS. Then enroll your fingerprints using the Fingerprint Manager Pro Software. The first time you boot, you must swipe your finger and enter the password to associate them.
What should I do if the keyboard types double letters when I press a key once?
This is usually due to a too-short repeat delay or too-fast repeat rate. Open Control Panel > Keyboard > Speed tab and set the Repeat delay to 'Long' and the Repeat rate to 'Slow'. If the issue persists, try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port.
How do I clean the fingerprint reader?
Gently wipe the surface of the fingerprint reader with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use water, cleaning solvents, or abrasive materials. Avoid scratching the surface with hard or pointed objects.
What are the system requirements for this keyboard?
The keyboard requires a computer running Windows 7 (32/64-bit), Windows 8 (32/64-bit), Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit), or Windows 10, and an available USB port. For fingerprint functionality, additional software or drivers must be installed.
Where can I find the latest drivers and software?
The Lenovo Fingerprint Manager Pro Software and Validity fingerprint driver (Win10) are available for download from Lenovo's support website at http://support.lenovo.com/keyboards. Always download the latest version compatible with your operating system.
