Frequently Asked Questions - VIMCF-93 CRUX

What is the CRUX VIMCF-93 used for?
The CRUX VIMCF-93 is a video interface module that allows passenger access to video content on your MyGig Navigation radio while the vehicle is in motion. It also retains full navigation functionality.
Is the VIMCF-93 compatible with all Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Volkswagen models?
No, compatibility is limited to specific models from 2007 to 2017. Refer to the vehicle applications list included in the manual for exact compatibility.
How do I install the VIMCF-93?
Installation is plug-and-play. Remove your factory radio, connect the T-harness between the factory harness and the MyGig radio, set the DIP switch according to your preference, and test the functions before reinstalling the radio.
What do the DIP switch settings mean?
DIP #1 controls the video-in-motion (VIM) function. Set to ON for permanent VIM (video always available). Set to OFF for non-permanent VIM: then you must connect the GREEN wire to +12V via a toggle switch (not included) to enable VIM.
What is the GREEN wire for?
The GREEN wire is the Video In Motion input. When DIP #1 is OFF, connecting this wire to +12V activates VIM. It can be connected to a toggle switch or a reverse signal, depending on your setup.
Can I use the VIMCF-93 with a non-MyGig radio?
No, the VIMCF-93 is specifically designed for MyGig Navigation radios. It is not compatible with other radio models.
Does the VIMCF-93 require any additional wiring or modifications?
In permanent VIM mode (DIP #1 ON), no additional wiring is needed. In switched mode, you need to add a toggle switch for the GREEN wire. Otherwise, installation is completely plug-and-play.
How do I test the interface after installation?
After connecting the harness and setting the DIP switch, temporarily connect the radio and test the video playback. Ensure video appears on the screen while the vehicle is moving (for VIM) and that navigation functions work before fully reinstalling the radio.
My video is not working; what could be wrong?
Common issues: DIP switch not set correctly, GREEN wire not connected properly in switched mode, or loose harness connections. Double-check the wiring diagram and DIP settings. Also ensure your radio is compatible.
Can I use the VIMCF-93 to watch DVDs while driving?
Yes, when VIM is enabled (either permanent or via switch), the passenger can view video content from the DVD player or other video sources while the vehicle is moving. The driver should never watch video while driving.
