How do I mount the air filtration system to the ceiling?

Use four eyebolts (included) to hang the unit. Alternatively, attach the four angle brackets to the cabinet lip using hex cap screws and lock washers, then secure to ceiling joists.

How do I change the filters?

First, unplug the unit. Disengage the two filter clips to remove the outer filter. Then pull out the inner filter. The inner filter can be blown clean with air or washed. Replace filters when clogged to maintain airflow.

What does the timer function do?

The timer allows auto-off after 2, 4, or 8 hours. Press the Time button repeatedly to cycle through settings. The corresponding LED (2H, 4H, 8H) will light up on the control panel.

Can I use the air cleaner without the remote?

Yes. The control panel on the unit has identical functions: On/Off, Time, and Speed buttons. You can operate it manually without the remote.

Why is the fuse popping out?

The fuse switch pops out in case of overload or electrical fault. Wait 3-5 minutes before pressing the fuse switch back in. If it pops again, check for blockages or consult a qualified electrician.

What type of power outlet is required?

The unit requires a properly grounded 3-prong outlet (115V, 60Hz). Do not remove the grounding prong. If using a 2-prong outlet, a temporary adapter with a ground tab may be used only until a grounded outlet is installed.

How often should I clean or replace the filters?

Frequency depends on usage. Check filters regularly; when they appear dirty or airflow decreases, clean the inner filter (by blowing air or washing) and replace outer filter if necessary. Always handle soiled filters with a dust mask.

What is the warranty coverage?

RIKON offers a 5-year limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. It does not cover misuse, normal wear, or accessories. Proof of purchase is required.

Can I use this unit for workshop dust collection?

This air filtration system is designed to recirculate and filter airborne dust particles in a workshop. It is not a dust collector for direct connection to tools but helps maintain air quality by capturing fine dust.

How do I reset the fuse after it pops?

Wait 3-5 minutes for the internal components to cool. Then press the fuse switch (located on the control panel) back in until it clicks. Ensure the cause of overload is resolved before restarting.

Unpacking and Clean-up

1. Carefully finish removing all contents from shipping carton. Compare contents of the shipping carton with the list of contents above. Place parts on a protected surface.
2. Report any shipping damage to your local distributor.
3. Clean all rust protected surfaces. Do not use; gasoline, paint thinner, mineral spirits, etc. These may damage painted surfaces.
4. Set packing material and shipping carton to the side. Do not discard until machine has been set up and is running properly.

Assembly

1. Remove all packing and hardware from inside of the unit by removing the outer filter and inner filters.
2. The air filtration unit can be hung from the ceiling. Hang the unit using four eyebolts (A, Fig.01).

Four angle brackets can also be used for mounting to the ceiling, or wall.

1. Place one end of bracket underneath the lip of the cabinet.
2. Attach the bracket (A, Fig.02) with two hex cap screws (B, Fig.02) and two lock washers (C, Fig.02).
3. Repeat steps for remaining three brackets.

1. Locate hardware to install the filter clips.
2. Slide spring onto threaded portion of knob and screw into the side of the cabinet (Fig.03).
3. Pull back spring and slide filter clip between spring and cabinet.(Fig.03).

Operation

Remote Control:

1. The on/off button (Fig.04) turns the unit on and off. Pressing this button will start the fan on the low speed.
2. Time button (Fig.04) controls the three different settings.

2H will light up on the back of the unit with one press of the time button. The air filtration system will operate for 2 hours then shut off.

4H will light up on the back of the unit by pressing the time button twice. The air filtration system will operate for 4 hours then shut off.

8H will light up on the back of the unit by pressing the time button three times. The air filtration system will operate for 8 hours then shut off.

1. Speed button (Fig.04) controls the three different settings, Low, Medium and High.

Manual Control:

The air filtration system can also be operated manually. The control panel loacted at the end of the unit has the same functions as the remote control above:

Fuse switch (C, Fig.05) will pop out in case of overload. Wait 3-5 minutes before resetting the fuse switch.

Maintenance

Changing the Filters

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury disconnect the air cleaner from the power source (unplug) before servicing or changing filters. Failure to comply may cause serious injury!

There are two filters that need to be changed.

The outer filter can be removed by disengaging the two filter clips (A, Fig.06). Pull the filter out, or use a screwdriver to pry out the filter.

The inner filter (Fig.07) can now be pulled out of the unit. The inner filter can be blown out with air, or washed out.

The filters should be replaced depending on the amount of usage. Clogged filters will reduce the amount of air circulation.

There is an arrow indicating the air flow direction on the outer filter. Make sure the filter is inserted facing the proper direction.

NOTE: Care should be taken when handling soiled or contaminated filters. As certain fine dusts can be harmful. Always wear a suitable mask for additional protection.

WARNING: This machine must be grounded.

Replacement of the power supply cable should only be done by a qualified electrician.

Electrical Requirements

In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped with an electric cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into a matching outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Do not modify the plug provided. If it will not fit the outlet, have the proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. The conductor, with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes, is the equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the electric cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a live terminal.

Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the tool is properly grounded.

Use only three wire extension cords that have three-prong grounding plugs and three-pole receptacles that accept the tool's plug.*

Repair or replace a damaged or worn cord immediately.

This tool is intended for use on a circuit that has an outlet that looks the one illustrated in Figure A below. The tool has a grounding plug that looks like the grounding plug as illustrated in Figure A below. A temporary adapter, which locks like the adapter as illustrated in Figure B below, may be used to connect this plug to a two-pole receptacle, as shown in Figure B if a properly grounded outlet is not available.** The temporary adapter should only be used until a properly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored rigid ear or tab, extending from the adapter, must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box.

* Canadian electrical codes require extension cords to be certified SJT type or better. ** Use of an adapter in Canada is not acceptable.
