USER MANUAL Kappa Emit-N MKII INFINITY

Thank you for purchasing a pair of Infinity Kappa EMIT-N™ MK II Tweeters. You've selected a premium car audio product that offers extended high-frequency response, advanced materials, and a compact size to fit virtually any interior location.

Kappa EMIT-N MK II Tweeters are easy to install. Each one is housed in an attractive surface-mount enclosure with grille and is equipped with an attached color- and terminal-keyed wire pigtail. For flush-mount applications (see back page), a pair of flush-mount clips and cups are included.

IMPORTANT

Installation of automotive stereo components requires extensive experience in dealing with a variety of mechanical and electrical procedures. If you do not feel you have the experience, do not attempt the installation yourself, but instead ask your Authorized Infinity Car Audio Dealer about professional installation options.

Surface-Mount Installation

1. At the chosen site, use the surface-mount bracket (with two holes) or template (see Figure 1) to mark locations of mounting holes. A 5/16" diameter feed-through hole is required to pass the tweeter wires and pre-attached terminals. Make sure the proposed hole will not extend beyond the tweeter's boundary.
2. Use a hole punch to create drilling guides. Clear away any carpet or other material prior to drilling. Use a drill with 516 " bit to create a feed-through hole at each tweeter location. Then use a 18 " bit to drill two mounting holes.
3. Fasten each surface-mount plate with supplied screws. Route wires from a crossover through each feed-through hole, and connect each pigtail.
4. Carefully align the openings on the back of each tweeter with the tabs on the surface-mount bracket. Slide each tweeter down on its plate to lock it into place, as shown in Figure 2.

INSTRUCTIONS

Flush-Mount Installation

To flush-mount Kappa EMIT-N MK II Tweeters, first remove the panels at each selected site. Make sure there is minimum mounting depth of 1" behind each panel.

1. At a chosen site, use the template shown in Figure 3 to create a hole in the panel for each flush-mount cup.
2. Insert a machine screw (enclosed) through the flush-mount plate, align its tabs with the channel openings on the back of the tweeter, and slide it down to lock it in place, as shown in Figure 4.
3. Route the tweeter's attached wire pigtail through the opening in the flush-mount cup and gently press the tweeter into the cup.
4. Place the cup and tweeter into the panel hole and fasten it by using the retaining clip and enclosed wing nut (see Figure 4).
5. Connect the tweeter wires to a crossover and re-install the panel.
