How do I install the Advantech EVA-2510-EA water leak sensor?

Place the sensor on the floor in an area prone to leaks, or mount it using the included adhesive tape. Ensure the metal probes contact the surface. The sensor will automatically pair with your Zigbee hub when powered on.

What type of battery does the sensor use and how long does it last?

It uses a replaceable CR123A 3V lithium battery. Under normal use, the battery lasts up to 2 years.

How do I know if the sensor detects water?

When water bridges the two probes, the sensor emits a loud audible alarm (≥85 dB) and its LED flashes red. A notification is also sent to your connected hub.

Is the sensor resistant to water or moisture?

The sensor has an IP67 rating, meaning it is dust-tight and can withstand temporary immersion in water. However, the probes must be exposed to detect leaks.

Can I use this sensor without a hub?

No, the EVA-2510-EA requires a Zigbee hub (e.g., Advantech Smart Home Hub) for remote alerts and integration. The local alarm will still sound without a hub.

What is the wireless range of the sensor?

The Zigbee signal can reach up to 30 meters indoors, depending on walls and obstructions.

How do I test the sensor?

Briefly touch both probes with a wet finger or a drop of water. The alarm should sound within a few seconds. Test monthly to ensure proper operation.

What should I do if the sensor triggers a false alarm?

Check for any moisture or condensation on the probes. Dry them with a cloth. If false alarms persist, relocate the sensor away from areas with condensation or high humidity.

1. Open the front cover and install 2 3.6V AA lithium batteries on battery holder.

1. Press the button for 3 seconds for powering on the device. You will see the LED quick blink one time. Once the device connect to your LoRaWAN Network Server successfully, the LED will on for 5 seconds.

1. Default data update cycle of EVA-2510 is 3600 seconds. You can change the data update cycle directly from WISE-6610, Advantech LoRaWAN Gateway, or via a downlink command from your service.
2. EVA-2510 has "change of state" function. It can send a data to your service immediately when a leakage happens.
3. EVA-2510 has 3 mounting style which includes wall mount, magnetic mount and pole mount.
