Frequently Asked Questions - Safe Touch KCF3-2007-1-R-T KING

How do I clean the filter on the King Safe Touch heater?
Turn off and unplug the heater. Locate the filter cover (usually on the back). Remove the filter and gently vacuum or wash with mild soap and water. Let it dry completely before reinserting. Clean monthly for optimal performance.
Why does my heater shut off unexpectedly?
This heater features overheat protection and a tip-over switch. If it shuts off, ensure it's not blocked, placed on an unstable surface, or covered. Also check that the filter is clean. If it continues, contact customer support.
Can I leave the heater on overnight?
The King Safe Touch heater is not designed for unattended use overnight. Always turn it off when you leave the room or go to sleep. It has safety features, but for fire safety, never leave it running unattended.
What does the Safe Touch technology mean?
Safe Touch means the exterior housing stays cool to the touch even during operation. This reduces the risk of burns, making it safer for households with children and pets.
How do I set the thermostat?
Turn the thermostat dial from Min to Max. When the room reaches the desired temperature, the heater will automatically cycle on and off to maintain it. Start on a high setting and adjust as needed.
What is the maximum wattage and can I use an extension cord?
The maximum power is 1500 W. Do not use an extension cord or power strip. Plug directly into a wall outlet to avoid overheating the circuit.
The fan runs but no heat comes out – what's wrong?
The heater may be on fan-only mode (if equipped) or the thermostat may be set too low. Check that the power dial is on a heat setting and the thermostat is turned up. Also ensure the filter is clean.
What are the dimensions and weight of this heater?
Approximately 20.3 x 18.5 x 27.9 cm (8 x 7.3 x 11 in) and weighs about 2.0 kg (4.4 lbs). It's compact and portable.
How often should I replace the filter?
The filter is reusable; clean it monthly. Replace if damaged or excessively dirty. Replacement filters can be purchased from King or authorized dealers.
Is the heater safe to use in a bathroom?
This heater is not rated for bathroom use unless it is specifically listed for damp locations. Keep it away from water and never use near a sink, bathtub, or shower to avoid electric shock.

Maintenance

WARNING - All Power must be shut off at the main service panel before inspecting or cleaning the heater.

With proper care your electric heater should last a lifetime, however seasonal cleaning is recommended to maintain the efficiency of the heater. To clean the heater remove the four screws that hold the grill in place and remove the grill. Remove dust or lint from the heating elements and the fan blades with a soft brush, compressed air, or a vacuum cleaner. KCF units require a few drops of SAE 20 synthetic oil on the motor shaft. Replace the grill and tighten the screws.
