The present manual is an integral part of the appliance and must be carefully read before using it as it gives important indications with regard to safety of installation, use and maintenance. Keep it with care.

PLEASE, READ AND STORE THE USER MANUAL FOR FUTURE USES.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

After having removed the appliance from its packaging, verify its integrity based on the drawing and any presence of damage caused by transport. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact an authorized service center.

Keep all packing material out of reach of children! To avoid danger of suffocation, keep the plastic bags out of the reach of children.

This product must be used only for the purpose for which it was designed, that is as kitchen scale. Any other use is considered improper and therefore dangerous. This appliance is not intended for use by children over 8 years, by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children must not play with the appliance.

Maintenance and cleaning should not be carried out by children, unless they are over 8 years and are supervised.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

Do not expose the appliance to humidity or weather conditions (rain, sun).

If there is a fault and/or the appliance operates irregularly, switch it off and do not tamper with it. For any repairs, only contact an authorized service center.

This appliance is intended for domestic use.

Never immerse the appliance in water or put it under running water.

Do not use this appliance near a basin full of water. While using, the appliance must be placed in such a way that it can not fall into the basin. Please do not use near the cooker.

Before using, please wash food contact parts.

Place the scale on firm and stable surfaces.

If the scale is not going to be used for long periods of time, please take batteries off the batteries compartment.

FIRST USE CLEANING

  • Remove the appliance from the packing.
  • Take off the bowl.
  • Hand-wash the bowl with a dump and thoroughly wrung out sponge; machine-wash the bowl at a temperature not exceeding 55 °C.
  • Wipe clean with a dry cloth.

INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL

Switch on:

  • Press “ON/TARE” to turn on the scale, until 18888 appears on the display. 3 seconds later the LCD displays the weight.
  • Place the object in the middle of the plastic platform; if you are using a bowl, please place it in the middle of the plastic platform.
  • Wait for the LCD display to stabilize. The LCD display will show the weight of the object.

How to use:

Remove battery isolator tab before the first use. Place the scale on a firm surface so that the scale can provide an accurate weighing.

Convert units:

Press “ON/TARE/OFF” to turn on the scale. The LCD display will show “0 g”; press the “UNIT” key and g/lb/oz/kg units will appear in the left part of the screen. Please choose the unit and, 2 seconds later, weight the object using the selected unit.

Tare function:

To weight several different ingredients in one bowl, tap the “ON/TARE” key and wait for the display to reset to zero between each ingredient. Put the new ingredient in the bowl and the LCD display will show the net weight of the last ingredient.

- Tare function will be activated over time; the LCD displays an icon that says “TARE” in the lower left corner of the screen. When you begin to remove the objects in the platform, the LCD display will show a negative value of the removed objects.

Auto switch-off:

- Auto switch-off occurs if the display shows zero or the same weight for over 30 seconds.

Manual switch-off:

- To maximize the battery life press and hold “ON/TARE” key, until the display switches off (approx. 3 sec).

Cleaning and care:

  • Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse the scale in water or use chemical/abrasive cleaning agents.
  • Be sure to place the scale in a firm surface. Avoid carpets or soft and uneven surfaces.

  • All plastic parts should be cleaned immediately after contact with fats, spices and seasonings. Avoid contact with acids such as citrus juices.

  • NOTE: washable platform in dishwasher
  • Prevent scale from damage avoiding the overcoming of the maximum capacity.
  • The scale is a high precision electronic product: in order to maintain and extend its life keep it in a safe place and use it with caution and care.
  • When you are weighing ingredients, need to convert units (g/lb/oz/kg), just press the mentioned key and do not touch the glass platform.

WARNING!

  • Replace only with the same or equivalent type of batteries.
  • Be sure to insert the new battery correctly, observing the symbols to position the positive (+) and negative (-) poles of each battery. Always store batteries at a cool, dry place at ambient temperature.
  • Remove the batteries if you are not going to use the appliance for a long period.
  • Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine or fire: battery acid may leak out!
    • Non-compliance with these instructions can cause batteries damage and explosion.
  • Do not take apart or short circuit; do not put in the fire. Ensure that the batteries cannot be accessed by children.
  • If swallowed, batteries can cause mortal dangers. Store the batteries in a safe place inaccessible to children.
  • If batteries are swallowed, consult your physician or local poison centers.
  • Batteries acid is corrosive. Avoid contact with skin, eye and clothing.
  • Remove batteries from the appliance before the disposal. Take damaged batteries to a collection point to ensure correct recycling.
