Important Warnings
Before using your appliance, read carefully this instruction manual and keep it in a safe place, as you may need it for future consultations.
Before you start your appliance, and to ensure a correct use, do not use it if:
• It has fallen to the ground;
- You notice any evidence of damage;
- Any anomaly occurs during its operation;
• The power cord is damaged.
In case of any of this occurring, please allow Worten Technical Service to test the device.
- Connect the equipment according to the voltage indicated.
- ATENTION! The slices of toasted bread may burn within the space reserved for toasting bread. For this reason, do not use the toaster near flammable materials.

- If during the operation of the same any anomaly arises;
- When cleaning and doing maintenance of the appliance after each use.
- Do not pull the cord to disconnect the unit.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water.
- Careful! Danger of burn injuries! The unit gets hot and can cause burns.
- Do not insert fingers or any objects like knives or forks inside the toaster. If any toast gets entangled or trapped inside the toaster first disconnect the toaster from the wall outlet and then remove the toast.
- Do not leave loose wire or the appliance at reach of children in order not to allow them to pull the wire, as touching the appliance when hot can cause burns.
- To prevent overheating, let the appliance cool down for about 10 minutes after the preparation of 6 bread rolls.

- To avoid hazards and deterioration of your appliance by an incorrect use, it is advisable to read the instructions carefully and attentively.
- Your appliance must not be used to other ends than the ones foreseen in the instructions manual. Your safety is only guaranteed in a household use and not for commercial use. The incorrect use will not be covered and automatically cancels the right to warranty.
- The toaster should be placed on a stable flat and horizontal surface.

- The appliance must be put in a place that allows the necessary air circulation.
- Do not place toaster on hot surfaces such as hotplates or near the cooker flame.
- Do not cover the toaster during use. Do not put too many slices of bread or read rolls inside the toaster as this may cause overheating of the machine.
- To avoid damage to the cord wrap it effortlessly around the base of the unit.
- To carry out the preparation of a toast in perfect conditions and with good results, the colour of incandescent heating plates may vary.
- The material used in packaging should not be left within reach of children.

3. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3.1. Bread toasting
- Push the plug into the socket and turn on the toaster using the toast lever. NOTE: When using the appliance for the first time, it will produce some smoke. This is normal and it will stop by itself after a few minutes.
- The indicator light of the stop button comes on automatically once the toaster is turned on.
- The stop button is there to prematurely stop the toasting process.
- The indicator light of the reheat button goes on when the button is pressed.
• The reheat button is used to heat up the toast.

- The indicator light of the defrost button goes on when the button is depressed.
- The defrost button is used for toasting bread directly from the freezer.
- Place the bread in the toaster clip.
• The clip can be opened by pushing together by hand.
- Place the clip in the toaster slot, but be aware that the toast does not bring up by itself.
3.2. Toasting level selection
- Please select the toasting time. When baking time is completed, the timer will close the toaster and it will be in a wait state.
- You should experiment until you find the perfect toasting time. The optimal time changes depend on the freshness of the bread and on the other ingredients. We advise you to alternate the two toaster clips half way through the toasting process. This will ensure that the bread is evenly browned.
- Do not use a knife, fork or other utensil to remove the bread from the toaster or to clean the toaster. If the bread becomes lodged in the toaster, unplug the appliance before attempting to remove it.
- The top of the appliance becomes hot because metal conducts heat so well. Therefore do not touch the outside of the toaster during use and keep it well out of reach of children.
3.3. Cleaning instructions
- Switch off and unplug toaster from the power outlet.
- Allow to cool down before cleaning.

- Wipe over the exterior of the toaster and cord with a soft damp sponge or cloth.
- Do not use abrasive or strong household cleaners as they will damage the finish.
- The crumb tray will need to be cleaned occasionally.
- Brush the crumbs from the tray using a small brush or cloth.
- Slide the crumb tray back, ensuring it locks into place.
- Do not try to clean the inside of the toaster, as this may damage the heating elements.
• Water and other liquid must never enter the toaster.
4. POST-SALE SERVICE
BECKEN has designed this appliance in order to guarantee maximum reliability. However, if a problem occurs do not attempt to open the appliance - there is a risk of electrical shock. If you are not able to solve the problem, please contact the Costumer Support Service of any Worten, Modelo or Continente store in order to be assisted. Worten Equipamentos para o Lar provides a 2-year warranty for manufacturing defects from the date of purchase of the appliance.
WARNING: Any attempt to repair the appliance without contacting the manufacturer or seller will void the warranty.
All users must be familiar with these instructions. Knowing what could go wrong can help prevent problems from occurring.
