How do I set up the turntable?

Place the turntable on a level surface. Remove the shipping screw from the tonearm. Connect the RCA cables to an amplifier or powered speakers. Plug in the power adapter and set the speed selector to 33 or 45 RPM.

What speakers can I use with the TT-918?

The built-in preamp provides line-level output, so you can connect to any amplifier with RCA inputs or powered speakers. If your amplifier has a phono input, you can turn off the built-in preamp.

How do I clean my vinyl records?

Use a carbon fiber brush to remove dust before each play. For deeper cleaning, use a record cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Always clean in the direction of the grooves.

Why does the turntable skip?

Skipping may be caused by a dusty or worn stylus, incorrect tracking force, or an unbalanced tonearm. Check the anti-skate setting and ensure the turntable is level.

How do I adjust the tracking force?

Balance the tonearm horizontally by adjusting the counterweight until it floats. Then rotate the counterweight ring to set the desired force (recommended 1.5–2.5 g). Use a stylus force gauge for accuracy.

Can I replace the cartridge?

Yes, the TT-918 uses a standard half-inch mount cartridge. You can replace it with any compatible MM cartridge. Disconnect the tonearm wires carefully and follow the new cartridge instructions.

Does the turntable have a ground wire?

If you hear a hum, connect the ground wire (if present) to the amplifier’s ground terminal. The built-in preamp may reduce hum; ensure the preamp is on for standard line output.

How do I change the speed?

Use the speed selector switch on the front panel to toggle between 33 1/3 and 45 RPM. For 78 RPM records, this model does not support that speed.

The turntable does not spin. What should I check?

Ensure the power adapter is plugged in and the outlet is live. Check if the belt is properly fitted around the motor pulley and platter. If the belt is loose or broken, replace it.

How do I maintain the turntable?

Keep the dust cover closed when not in use. Clean the stylus with a brush every few plays. Lubricate the motor spindle if needed (refer to manual). Store in a dry, dust-free environment.

Safety

• The product should only be repaired by qualified service personnel.
  • The product should not be dismantled or modified.
• Do not place the product where there is a risk of it falling into water or other liquid. Do not place any objects containing liquid on top of the product, e.g. flower vases or fizzy drinks.
• Shut off the standby function at night or before going on holiday.
• Do not cover the product. Adequate ventilation with a distance of at least 15 cm between ventilation holes and the surrounding area is necessary to prevent the device from becoming too warm.
• Do not place the record player in damp, dusty environments or where there are strong vibrations.
• Prolonged exposure to high volume can damage your hearing.

Power-save mode

The record player automatically switches to power-save mode after 15 minutes when the last track on an LP has been played.

To start the record player when it is in power-save mode, turn the [ON/OFF] switch to OFF and then back to ON.

Connections

1. Remove all protective packaging from the product.
2. Make sure that none of the ventilation openings is blocked.
3. Connect the mains lead to a wall socket.

Use

1. Remove the cover from the stylus.
2. Place a record on the turntable. Use the record adaptor if needed.

3. Set the RPM selector to the correct speed for the record to be played.

4. Start the player by turning the ON/OFF switch.

5. Lift the tone arm from its holder.

6. Place the stylus at the desired place on the record.

7. Adjust the volume as desired.

8. When the record has finished playing, the player will stop automatically. Lift the tone arm from the record and return it to its holder.

9. To stop the record manually, lift the tone arm from the record and return it to its holder.

Note: On some records, the auto stop function is activated before the record has finished. If this happens, set the auto stop switch to the OFF position. The record will then play until the very end of the groove, but it will not shut off automatically and will continue to revolve. Switch the player of using the ON/OFF switch or set the auto stop switch to the ON position. Return the tone arm to its holder.

Line-out

It is possible to connect the player to a stereo system via the line-out socket using an RCA lead (not included).

Care and maintenance

Wipe the product using a dry cloth as and when required. Never use solvents or abrasive cleaning agents.
