Frequently Asked Questions - AXSUB-FD1 Axxess

How do I connect the AXSUB-FD1 to my amplifier?
Use the RCA line-level inputs (left/right) if your receiver has subwoofer pre-outs. Alternatively, use the speaker-level inputs if connecting via speaker wire.
Why is my subwoofer not producing sound?
Check the power cable and ensure the power switch is on. Verify the input connections and that the receiver's subwoofer output is enabled. Adjust the volume and low-pass filter settings.
What is the phase control for?
The phase switch (0° or 180°) aligns the subwoofer's output with your main speakers. Set it to the position that gives the fullest bass at your listening position.
How to clean and maintain the subwoofer?
Unplug the subwoofer before cleaning. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the cabinet. Avoid liquids or abrasive cleaners.
Can I use the AXSUB-FD1 in a car?
No, this subwoofer is designed for home use with a standard AC power outlet. For car audio, use a dedicated 12V subwoofer.
What is the recommended crossover frequency?
Start with the low-pass filter set to around 80 Hz. Adjust to blend seamlessly with your main speakers without sounding boomy or localized.
Does the subwoofer have auto standby?
Yes, the auto on/off function activates the subwoofer when an audio signal is detected and puts it in standby after about 15 minutes of inactivity.
What if the subwoofer hums or buzzes?
Ensure all connections are secure and the subwoofer is on the same electrical circuit as your receiver. Try a ground loop isolator on the RCA cable.
Can I place the subwoofer in a cabinet?
For best performance, place the subwoofer on the floor in an open area. Avoid enclosed spaces that can muffle sound or cause overheating.
Where can I get replacement parts or service?
Contact AXESS support or an authorized service center. For replacement drivers or amplifiers, check with the manufacturer.
